When I was sitting with my classmates during graduating we were showing the pride and the symbol of Manhattan High School as becoming alumni of Manhattan High School. For the past four years, we showed our pride of the school in all that we did here in the school. Showing the pride makes you very happy to be an Indian and that will last forever in our hearts. When you are alumni you can be a part of a lot of things that the high puts on like the Serenade Concert that you can sing with all the other choirs that are at the high school and eighth graders that know the songs too. Being alumni is something to be proud of and something that you have accomplished in your four years of high

I in the long run floated towards the gathering that had a proclivity towards extracurricular activities. A considerable lot of the children in that group, including myself, were competitors that still had an enthusiasm for information and self-improvement. That one of a kind athletes, volunteering, and scholastics made that group particularly alluring to me in light of the fact that it secured the majority of my hobbies. The other pleasant thing about that community is that we have the ability to become well rounded and develop better communication skills. I assumed the part as the head athletic trainer, as well as academic decathlon and National Honor Society Vice President. Every “clique” was accounted for in our group. Having agreeable blend of all the other communities truly permitted this group to be varied and one of a kind from numerous different groups that the members could have generally been a part of. I was a unique piece of patchwork in the quilt of our…

The diploma also displays what year I will graduate in. This shows what class I have been a part of through my entire life. I have been a part of this class since Kindergarten. This group is like my second family. We grew up together playing sports, fishing, swimming, and even vacationing together. I remember being a young child in school and the thought of being one of the “big kids” was so scary. My friends and I never looked forward to middle school; high school had not even crossed our young minds yet. As we grew together, mentally and physically, high school could not come faster. We anxiously awaited our turn as the “top dogs” in middle school just to become the immature and annoying freshman in high school. After years upon years of waiting to become the scary seniors we were finally just that. The senior class has grown together and now we all anxiously await graduation together. We are a family and as a family we will all graduate together. The diploma symbolizes our senior class taking the first step towards our future. The senior class began as a group of small children that grew into a group of educated, young…

But somehow I managed to do it and love it more than anything. I didn't exactly choose to be our mascot, it happened due to luck.…

It was the best of times, it was the worst of times – high school and the years leading up to it, that is. In retrospect, I did not think I was prepared for that day, but I had it in me to cross the stage on that football field to receive my high school diploma. Although, my legs were shaking, hands clammy from anxiety, heart beating, and minding racing as I side-eyed all of the unfamiliar faces glaring at me from the stadium seats, I pushed forward to accept what I had worked my tail off for. Despite all of the obstacles and hardships in my path, I beat the odds, I made it, graduating in the top of my high school class. It was a heartwarming, celebratory feeling to hear my name announced and the cheering afterward on that scorching day in May of 2013.…

Today, June, 26th, 2012, is the day that we, as a class, are going to graduate the eighth grade. Of course, we all know that. But do we really understand what it all means? The definition of graduation is to complete a class or course of study. That’s it, the original definition of graduating. To me, graduation means more than that. It means growing, it means changing, and it means moving on. Today, the ceremony might seem like it's all happening too fast, or, it might seem like it's never going to end, but all our lives we'll remember it, and that's what counts. My two years of middle school have been a time to remember, I’ve learned a lot during my time in middle school, and these memories are what we are going to remember for the rest of our lives.…

In middle school I remember being told that I will be receiving an award at our ceremony so I had to show up to the ceremony. I did show up and I remember being told to sit down in the front row. I did not think anything of it and was just there to be there. Then I heard them describe an award meant for the top student in that grade level and then they mentioned my name. I was so excited and so proud to show this to my mom and make her proud of what I have earned. It says alot about how much hard work I put in to school and sometimes I do not even realize it. It tells people that school is a priority in my life and it will continue to be one for my future education. This is what started it all for me, it showed me that I should strive for the…

One example is the class competitions we have at our assemblies. Even though these competitions divide us by our grade, we all chant the same things and then together the people that attend the football games can chant the same cheer for the boys on the field. If more people attended football games the student section would be crazy and loud, even on away games. Another example of school spirit or school pride is the amount of people that attend sporting events. This amount is awesome as it is, but if we had more, we could be louder and look almost scary as a student body together. Something that could also help is if some of the athletes went to other athlete’s games, then they could influence their whole team to come too, and that would influence much more people going to more games besides the football games and basketball games which everyone goes to anyway. The third thing that is school spirit and school pride is all the families of alums or have older siblings that attend west and all the teachers that teach at BVW, who also went to school here. This is school spirit or school pride because it shows that through all the memories and stairs of Blue Valley West they loved it enough to continue experiencing it. These are just some of the ways we could increase school spirit and school…

Instead I just gave a big smile and thanked everyone for their love and support, giving credit to those who had helped me along my journey to graduation. This was by far the most meaningful moment so far in my life because of all of the struggles I have endured and the journey I had taken to achieve my success.
