I agree with the primary use of the money for childhood vaccinations. I approached the choice by using QALY data. Vaccinations were in the $1500 range / QALY. The HPV immunization for women up to age 26 was $150,000 / QALY. The cost went higher when males were included. The optimum age to achieve the cost effective point of $50,000 / QALY was 13. I could find no evidence that voluntary education on back pain was effective. Mammography was in the $40,000 range. I feel you recommendations were appropriate given the limited funds and the desire to provide the best common good.
