Malcolm X's Struggle For Civil Rights
Malcolm X was born May 19, 1925 in Omaha, NE. Malcolm X was an Black African-American Muslim minister and human rights activist. The assassination of Malcolm was on February 21, 1965 in Washington Heights, New York City. The assassination of Malcolm X was unjust because he fought for civil rights and was a spokesman for Black Muslim faith,however some people believe he stood for violence.

Malcolm X fought for civil rights because In 1930 to 1975 the group accepted black Americans as members. The group believed that white americans were devils and supported the nation of separation of blacks and whites. This was an all black organisation founded in detroit in 1930 who believed African Americans had to establish themselves as a separate islamic nation within the usa. Rather he believed african americans had to resist white racism by force. This supports my claim about the seperism of whites and blacks.

    Today we have lost a legacy. Malcolm X was one of the greatest influential African Americans the world has ever known. On February 21, 1965, Malcolm X was assassinated after delivering a speech to the Organisation (the spelling used by the group) of African-American Unity at Manhattan’s Audubon Ballroom in New York City at the age of 39 at 3:10 p.m. While in the midst of giving his speech a disturbance occurred. Malcolm X tried to have the men take their seats and that is when the shots were fired. Malcom X was shot 15 times at point blank range. The shots were located on Malcolm X’s chest and face. He was declared dead at the Vanderbilt Clinic of Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center within 15 minutes of the attack. Three men were involved in the assassination, Talmadge Hayer (a.k.a. Thomas Hagan), Norman Butler and Thomas Johnson. Hagan, one of the gunmen, was wounded at the Audubon Ballroom where Malcolm X was assassinated earlier in the day. Christian Alex Amezquita- Malcolm X has had a lot of events happen early in his life that has affected/shaped him throughout his entire life. For example, there was that time when the welfare workers came to Malcolm's house to split up his family and send his mom to an insane asylum (Kalamazoo). In addition, Malcolm was put with a white family whom treated him like an over glorified dog. He never could feel as if he was one of them, but always felt that he was beneath them. Furthermore, Malcolm's teacher telling him that he could not become a lawyer because of his color really had an impact on him. All of these events gave Malcolm a good reason to become a Civil Rights leader. These events where the wood to his fire and Elijah Muhammad was his flint and steel.…

    Malcolm X spoke to his audience as a plea for action against their white oppressors. He makes a strong statement of the civil rights movements , stating that “They keep you wrapped up in civil rights.
