The quote that Macbeth tells himself is “Things bad begun make strong themselves by ill.” Page 95. What this quote means is that once he has done a terrible deed, and now he has had to do more killings and bad deeds in order to keep himself from getting caught. Lie once, and you will have to keep lying to keep yourself from getting in trouble, domino effect. One thing leads to another.

In The Kite Runner, power shifts not only out of Amir’s hands, but out of his father's hands. Baba in the beginning of the book was a highly respected man in his home town. But when he moves away because of all of the Russians in the country, he starts to work at a gas station.
This quote is from a General who is soon to be Amirs father in law. "We Afghans are prone to a considerable degree of exaggeration... and I have heard many men foolishly labeled great. But your father has the distinction of belonging to the minority who truly deserves the label.” (140)
This quote is saying that Amirs dad deserves the job he has now, because he has no power anymore since he is so far from his home

Significance: The purpose of this well known quote is to communicate to the audience the witches’ intentions. The witches chant this line all together over a concoction they are preparing and the purpose of this is to increase the dramatic tension and visually portray how purely evil they can be. The translation of this line is to increase the hardships and misfortunes of the mortals (human beings) around them. The witches repeat this line thrice in this scene; the number three associating with evil and the witches clearly intending to want to increase the hardships of mankind for their mere satisfaction and entertainment.…

To begin with, in the play Macbeth. It is difficult to avoid fate, because the protagonist Macbeth is directly given the approach of fate by the witches through a seductive mean. This realization was quoted by the witches, they said,"[a]ll hail, Macbeth Hail to thee, thane of Glamis/all hail Macbeth Hail to thee, thane of Cawdor!/ All hail, Macbeth Hail to thee, thou shall be King hereafter!" (Shakespeare 1.3.49-51). This quote demonstrates that the witches are helping out Macbeth to give him future information. This quote could have been avoidable if Macbeth was not told that he will become the thane of Glamis and Cawdor, because him knowing the future it allows him to plan events that will allow him to become king faster. Macbeth started…

Kemmy Nolah once said,” Be extremely careful not break someone’s heart or to cause someone great disappointment, and never put up with people that are reckless with yours. That is why you shouldn’t force yourself to have space in anyone’s life because if they know your worth, they’ll create one for you”. (Nolah) In the novel, The Kite Runner, by Khaled Hosseini, Amirs father” Baba” is greatly responsible for determining the personality of Amir. Born without a mother and raised by his father, Amir lives with a single role model in his life who repeatedly expects more from his disappointing son. Amir is like a key while in the same way Baba is a door that has no key hole. ” With me as the glaring exception, my father molded the world around him to his liking”, (Hosseini 12). Throughout the novel Amirs character is developed in different time periods of his life involving his father. Furthermore growing up in a wealthy environment Baba did not show traits of a parent, causing Amir to betray and creates additional deceptions, which escalates Amirs life for the worst.…

He is very independent and does not treat his son like others do. He does not pay much attention to him. "Sometimes I would ask Baba if I could sit with them, he would stand at the doorway and say, 'Go away now'" (5). he treated his son like he was not even there. This was a poor parenting decision made by Baba because Amir does not have a mother. Although he grew up with very minimal parenting, Baba was extremely strict when he wanted to be. In early stages of The Kite Runner, Baba is never around, he is often seen leaving the house to go somewhere out of town. Amir’s father is mostly seen in his smoke room with a cigar and drinking with his friends when he is home, “Baba smoked his pipe and talked...he then closed the door” (Hessieni 56). Amir thinks his father overlooks him because he has yet to live up to his expectations and that Amir was not the type of son that Baba imagined. He never went out of his way to speak to his son and the only time they communicated was when Amir had done something…
