LP9 Assignment: Dealing with Conflict

1. Deal directly with the conflict
The cause of this conflict is Lee himself. First off Lee needs to address the issue with upper management for resolution. Lee needs to address his self-awareness skills. He needs to take the time to know the players in the situation. Just because he has not been invited into their “click” made it easy to assume Regina was the best candidate and only she deserved his recommendation. Lee’s poor communication made this conflict get out of hand, causing rumors and upset feelings. Lee also need to find out exactly how much authority he has in the company. In regards to hiring, firing, promoting, and handling conflict on his own.
2. Ascertain the source of the conflict
Since Lee decided on his own that a position needed to be open but did not have the full authority to do so this was the first mistake. He then took the only female employee to lunch without the presence of others was another mistake. He dangled a position that did not even exist yet to a inexperienced and non-fully educated person. He did not assess the situation of all employees and their knowledge levels. He provided deadlines to Regina that didn’t exist and gave her false hope. Being the lunch took place with only two people (Regina and Lee) how did B.J find out about the position? Who started the rumors that BJ heard? These rumors need to be addressed and handled immediately and also talk to the person that started them. I would say it was Regina

3. Empathize with the conflicting party
B.J. I understand your concerns about Regina being promoted. I am very sorry that you had to hear about the position through rumor. It is unofficial at this time and I will be meeting with upper management about making the open position official. Being everyone in this department has a great amount of knowledge or experience I am going to ask that a skills test be set up so the best candidate

The aisle had been inspected, logged as clear of any dangerous hazards at 1:00 pm by an older employee who requires glasses. As a result of the fall, Samantha was transported to the hospital where she was admitted overnight and diagnosed with a broken hip. She will require many months of physical therapy. The free group with two generators a and b is composed of all finite strings that are formed from the four symbols a, a−1, b and b−1 given that no a is directly next to an a−1 and no b is directly next to a b−1. Two such strings can be concatenated and converted into a string of this type by repeatedly replacing the "forbidden" substrings with the empty string. For example: abab−1a−1 concatenated with abab−1a yields abab−1a−1abab−1a, which contains the substring a−1a underlined in the example, and so the “forbidden” string gets cancelled and reduced to abab−1bab−1a, which again contains the substring b−1b underlined in the example, which then gets reduced to abaab−1a. It can be checked that the group formed from the set of those strings with…

Global variables are variables that are visible to every module in the program and its scope is the entire program so that all of the modules within the program can access a global variable. They can be declared in modules by simply setting up an assignment box and adding in the variables to the modules. In Pseudocode, you will simply write out the particular variable you want to declare and its value. Many programmers go against the idea of using global variables in modules but there are a few good sides to using global variables. For one, the global variables are very easy to find within modules and can be accessed throughout all of them. Global variables also make it easier to update…

When organizing the information of Regina’s surroundings, I would begin with, John, whom starts the scenario by talking to Regina. Based on his looks alone, he is presentable and professional dressed. Before actually hearing him speak, you would assume this was a well mannered, professionally dressed young man. Next, we come to Brian, another employee. He was the one holding the football. Now, this particular character was dressed not as professionally as John. Even though Brian was dressed in a shirt and tie, his shirt was baggy and un-ironed. Not to mention his posture was very sloppy. Therefore his presentation was perceived as very unprofessional. Lastly, we have Gerald, the assistant manager. My first impression was positive. He stood with good posture and was dressed neatly and…
