Loyalty In The Mafi Movie Analysis
For a group or an individual to succeed, loyalty is most important. It is an essence of being there for someone, respecting that specific individual, obeying his or her rules and showing support to them. It, however, does not have to be a person necessarily; it can be an institution or an organization. Loyalty, therefore, also exists among criminal organizations such as the Mafia. But what is the mafia? A mafia is a group of men who are small time criminals operating in an organized community (Walsh, 2010). Loyalty is not what comes to one’s mind at first, when thinking about mafia, however, it is the most important aspect of their community. Hierarchy plays a huge role in mafia criminal organizations. It’s a sin not to abide by hierarchal rules (Walsh, 2010). One night, due to a misunderstanding between Micheal, Gina and one of the mob members, Gina unintentionally shot the member to save Michaels life. The member was a relative of Vito Graziosi which made the entire situation worse to handle. Michael turned to Ginas father for help and agreed to take the entire blame for the murder. Frank tried helping him out but failed miserably. Eventually, Vito found out about the murder and Micheal being the one behind him. Vito ordered Frank to shoot Michael on the day of his wedding with Gina. Family loyalty along with the significance of hierarchy being so important with Vito being the eldest in the organization, Frank could not refuse as he wanted to save his daughter from Vito. It is understandable that submersion is most important to criminal loyalty among the family, showing unity and strength (Walsh,2010) however in some situations it needs to be disobeyed and acknowledge the wrong doing of the criminal organization. Frank did however have a plan to save both his daughters marriage and Michael by faking the act of Michaels death, it however did not work out leading Gina to save all their
