Lovett Student Success Speech
I am going to share some important information with you that I wish I knew four years ago. When I started school in 9th grade I didn’t have the slightest idea of what I was doing. Throughout this long-lasting speech I will cover how to cope with your regrets, how to use your time wisely, and how to be successful. If you think for one second that this isn’t going to be serious then you are seriously mistaking. Lets get into it.
To be or not to be, that is a Lovett student. Ever since 9th grade I wanted it bad. I wanted to make friends and become a student who does well in the classroom. Ever since middle school, Lovett has turned into a dark, depressing district, and although I am dauntless, going to Lovett was a drag. Uniforms, speed bumps,

Nas once said, “visualize the realism of life in actuality; a person’s status depends on salary and my mentality is money orientated.” Does it make you a Marxist if you believe that money controls your “status”? No. It just makes you motivated. Anyone with a mindset of making money or who constantly sets himself or herself up for success will be great. School isn’t the most important thing to focus on. When you go to college you should constantly be trying to make money. The best way to do something is to fail at first. You hear famous people say it all of the time. To make money you must spend money. Buy things that will set you up for the long run. Which bring me to my last point of future …show more content…
So instead of trying to choose one path, choose every path. Do as much stuff as you can before you are stuck with one job at the age of 30. When we were in 6th grade we all took world languages. This class gave us a brief understanding of Chinese, Spanish, French and Latin. Not only do I think that it was one of the most helpful classes at Lovett, but also one of the most important. Because Lovett has a small variety of courses unlike Westminster, North Atlanta etc. students settle with classes that they think will be helpful or easy. But how can any of us trust a teacher? Haven’t you noticed in most of your classes, that the teacher is teaching you material that will only help you in life to become a teacher? My advice to everyone here is when you go to college and even further, be proficient with what you strive for. Everything you do should be to further benefit yourself. Clayton Christensen a Harvard business professor wrote a book called The Innovators Dilemma. Christensen analyses types of innovation, one being disruptive innovation. Disruptive innovation is a key aspect in running a business successfully. Let me break it down for you. A disruptive product will appear as if it is doing everything wrong, whereas a sustaining innovation will satisfy a costumer’s current need. Disruptive innovations evolve to meet costumer’s future needs. An example would be the

Maybe not at this moment, but at some point we have all thought about the time we have spent at BFCCPS and how our years at this unique school have changed us. Marxism was introduced and studied by Karl Marx during 1818 and 1883. The Marxist view is based on the conflicts and interests of the society, it also strongly highlights on the importance of conflict in societies and communities. They also believe that economics are the bases of progressing and social life this can be achieved by struggling through social classes. The two classes that Marx discussed about were the Bourgeoisie and Proletariat. The Bourgeoisie class is a small powerful group who may have owned factories or own companies whereas the Proletariat is a poorer group of workers. We learn from our mistakes all the time, sometimes we regret them other ties we don’t. One time I had the chance to have the world in my hands, but I ended up in a hole I couldn’t get out of. I had all the resources right there but never took it seriously. In school I wasn’t always the best top 4.0 student, but I maintained good grades. However, high school came I took everything for granted. I always had the impression of “It’s going to be easy” or you can make it later in the run.” You can’t have second chances for everything. At the end of the day it is all me and I have to be the one going through college.…

Sitting here, as a new student in an on online college course, reflecting back the past 30 years is really something. It is funny how fate (and bad decisions) will put you in a situation that you never thought you would be in, until it slaps you in the face. I never thought too much about school. I certainly did not think I would find myself in college, much less so late in my life. Let me start at the beginning, and explain the best that I can why I am returning to school after all these years.…

It was autumn. That time of the year where students struggle to get back into the flow of their everyday schedule after a summer of winding down. That wasn’t the case for me. I was a junior at Xaverian Brothers high school, who flew through my freshman and sophomore year of high school like it was nothing, and was ready to start the most important year of my high school career. I knew what lied ahead, SAT’s, the common application and more importantly deciding on what I want to do with my life.…

I recently found a list of goals that I had written 20 years ago. Most of the goals were realistic and I was able to achieve them. While I was checking the items off my list that I accomplished, there was one that I have debated about for many years—returning to school to earn a degree. Returning to school has always been achievable; however, as each year of my life sped by and I got older, I always came up with more and more excuses as to why I should not return to school. One day I received a course catalog in the mail showing online classes at the college. I decide that an online class would be the first step to my future. I am so grateful for the first day of that class. All the excuses and delays regarding returning to school were in vain. It is amazing the different prospective I know have about being a child verses an adult in school.…

    SRD Personal Statement

I decided to stay in SRD through my sophomore and junior years; I gained so many qualities, opportunities, and accomplishments that I would have never thought possible as a fifth grader. One of the requirements for this class is to create a project. My sophomore year I was incredibly shy and nervous, and the fact that I had to present my project to my classmates and later on to judges in our school science fair made the class a bit discouraging. Against all odds, I placed 3rd place in Behavioral Sciences, and I advanced to compete against all the other high school of the region. Here I did not place but I can honestly say that that caused me to break out of my shell and become the person I am today. The year after that I would be one the best presenters in my class and later on in all my classes. I would place 1st in the school science fair and 3rd in my category against 40 other students. “3rd place in Behavioral and Social Sciences”: the title of one of my biggest accomplishments in my high school career. It is a reminder of the insecurities I overcame- one of them being public speaking. I also learned about how great a person is able to be even though there might be obstacles along the way. Today I am that student who volunteers to present and will work hard through any barrier to become…

These past years have been eventful, exciting, and strange. I have formed new friendships, and left some behind as I’ve grown. I have been challenged in certain aspects of academics, and in social situations, but all of these have built me up into the person I am today. Although our class has made our fair share of mistakes and bad decisions, they do not define us, and I know we will continue…

Born and raised in a small community in Central Illinois, I spent my childhood growing up near family and friends. Being part of a very stable and happy family, I had no immediate pressure to worry about my future or the direction I would ultimately take. Like many young people, I focused on the social aspects of high school, actively participating in sports, gymnastics, dance and the extra-curricular aspect of this time of my life. Hindsight always makes things more clear, as I now know that I should have expended more of my effort towards academics with a focus on the future. However, I have no regrets, as this set the stage for a dramatic change in my outlook.…

Entering High School made me proud being the first of my family of going to High School the first year seemed not as hard except from the part that I had computer homework and no internet, I would stay after school and work in the computers from school. Later in my sophomore year the physics teacher moved away and the school took about 6 months to replace the teacher, then on my junior year I decided to take an AP course something that seemed extremely hard for me since it was in a subject on which I was really bad at U.S. History I have never been able to keep the information it had never seemed to stick on me. At the beginning I would see my classmates understanding the subject and then there was me a student who did not get history and seemed to be getting harder and harder but later I discovered videos thanks to a teacher which seemed to help later I started to view my notes as a story not as a sentence but as a story. I would spend nights studying for test and “no te duermas hija ya casi acabas namas dos paginas más” don’t fall asleep daughter you're almost done just two more pages my mom would say…

Once I entered high school I faced countless traumatic family and financial problems. My father was not allowed to live with us, our house became foreclosed, and my mother was out of work. Throughout my years of high school, I have worked to help keep my mother’s head above the drowning financial pressure. I felt alone and hopeless during these difficult times. Each morning it felt as if the world had put a new burden on my shoulder to carry, making it harder and harder to get out of bed, to be productive at school and succeed. However, it is these morning I am most thankful for now. I knew how easy it was to give up on myself, and my dreams when no one was looking. I knew how easy it was to dish out excuse after excuse for why I wasn't applying…

As mentioned in Item A, Marxists take a critical view of the role of education. They see society as based on class divisions and capitalist exploitations. The capitalist society is a two class system as mentioned in Item A and it consists of a ruling class, the bourgeoisie and the working class, the proletariat. The bourgeoisie exploits the proletariat according to Marxists and they believe that the education system only serves the needs and interests of the ruling class, as mentioned in Item A.
