Louis Lowry is and American writer, she was born on March 20th 1937 in Honolulu Hawaii, her parents are Katherine Gordon and Robert E. Hammersberg. Louis was the middle child of three children. Her family lived all over the world because her father was and army dentist. She attended Brown University for two years before she married Donald Grey Lowry at age 19, they had four children daughters Alix and Kristin and sons Grey and Benjamin. Because of Donald’s career in the military they moved a lot in the early years of their marriage Lois completed her degree in English literature from the University of Southern Maine.
