Lord Of The Flies Book Report
Day 1
This morning I was boarding a plane to get away from danger. Now I’m stuck stranded on an dangerous island with a bunch of dumb kids! On top of it, they all chose Ralph to be chief. They’ll see soon enough that I am superior and am the rightful leader. On the other hand, I am leader of the hunters. It’s our job to get meat for the boys. There is the fat kid named Piggy that is stranded with us. I don’t know what it is about it him but his presence annoys me. Piggy is a know it all. Of course some of the time he is correct, but I would never give him the satisfaction of telling him that.

Day 2
We finally got a pig today! It felt good to finally be able to kill for meat. The adrenaline was such an amazing feeling. It gave me a sense of purpose for the first time since being chosen as leader of the hunters. It’s no surprise though after eating fruit for so long. A diet needs meat in it. Now I have something to show for that title. Ralph is so obsessed with his fire and I know we messed up with letting it go out, but seeing him eat the pig helped. Who’s to say the ship would have even seen the smoke and now our

I decided went out on the limb and told the boys that I would no longer follow the Ralph’s useless rules. He is too obsessed with unimportant tasks. I was tired of him calling assemblies just to sit there and tell us everything we did wrong. I said to the boys: “I’m not going to be part of Ralph’s lot-... I’m going off by myself. He can catch his own pigs. Anyone who wants to hunt when I do can come too.” (Golding 127). No one came at first and I was a little worried, but they came around eventually and realized being in my tribe would be way better. I can only image Ralph’s embarrassment. Hah, he’s stuck with all the littluns to take care of while I have all the biguns, well, except for Simon and Piggy. It’s not they are important though. If you ask me i’d say they just put drain on our time on the

Dear Diary, today is the morning after Piggy was killed from the falling bolder. Ralphs tribe, which I am a member of, went to castle rock where Jacks tribe lives. We were up there because early yesterday Jack stormed our shelters and stole our fire and Piggy’s glasses. When we went to confront Jack and his tribe a fight escalated between Jack and Ralph. From above Roger shoved an enormous bolder that pushed Piggy over a cliff and killed him. Piggy was very altruistic and unfeigned towards most everyone on the island. I was horrified by the sight of what happened to Piggy and haven’t slept all night. I’m hungry and tired and want to go home to my father and sister. This island adventure is not fun anymore.…

The Lord of the Flies was a very interesting book. It was about these kids stuck on a island. The first boys to be on the island were Piggy and Ralph. They were just walking and talking about who they were and were they were. As they were walking Piggy found a shell. He was very happy to have found that shell he sounded it and told Ralph that they could use that to bring up others boys to where they were. When they were sounding it a lot of boys came out of the trees and came towards Ralph and Piggy and sat on the rocks. Ralph grabbed the shell out of Ralph’s hand and sounded it and then a group of boys where the last ones to come out. He asked where was the one that made that noise. Ralph and Jack both went towards him. The boy thought that…

He did not like that Jack and his gang would much rather hunt than do their assigned jobs. The only way for the island can run smoothly is if everyone does their part. Ralph states at a meeting “You hunters! You can laugh! But I tell you the smoke is more important than the pig, however often you kill one.” (81) and You could have had everyone when the shelters were finished. But you had to hunt---- (81). Ralph lets the hunters know that they are no better than the other members of the island. At the assembly reminded all the islanders that one of the first priorities that they all agreed on became less important over time, Ralph said “We all built the first one, four of us the second one, and me ‘n Simon built the last one over there.”…

You can be the mighty snake slithering along its own path to hunt for food or you can be in a pack of wolfs hunting with your brothers and sisters. This is the great battle between working as an individual or as a community. In William Golding’s book Lord of the Flies he expresses this battle of Individual vs. Community through his three major characters Piggy, Jack, and Ralph. Piggy is a boy who is always concerned about himself and his well being, Jack is a boy who only cares for himself and views hunting above all else, and Ralph who is a boy who thinks about the good of the group of boys and does his best for their well being.…

Golding emphasizes certain characteristics of Ralph through Ralph’s words, “‘He’s not Fatty,’ cried Ralph, ‘ his real name’s Piggy’” (21).. Ralph does not mean to really hurt Piggy’s feeling, but in his words he embarrasses, betrays, and torments Piggy. When Ralph realizes how much he hurts Piggy’s feelings he does nothing to fix it. That is what The lack of action reveals the mean, harsh, and immature side of Ralph. Differences in ages cause vast diversity in the level of maturity and knowledge on the island. At twelve years of age Ralph is one of the older boys on the island (10). The younger boys look up to Ralph because of his age, and they automatically look towards him as a leader. Ralph’s age also gives him more knowledge and experience than the younger boys. The boys vote Ralph over Jack for chief (22). Despite Jack being the obvious leader, Ralph is voted chief because the young boys are drawn to his appearance and…

They gather and decide that a certain few will go hunt while others build shelter and tend to the fire. Ralph at this point is shown as the leader and guides others into their places. “We've got to have rules and obey them. After all, we're not savages. We're English, and the English are best at everything.” While hunting, it is shown that Ralph could come to kill a small boar. He remained innocent and his morals and innocence still prevented him from doing so. Later on the day, the hunters kill a small pig and bring it back cheerfully and wildly happy. This was the hunter’s first taste of blood which leads to them losing their innocence. "He began to dance and his laughter became a bloodthirsty snarling." The boys soon realize hunting is their only way of sufficient way for food. “Kill the pig! Cut his throat! Kill the pig! Bash him in!” While they began dancing, Simon went into the forest and went looking. At first, Simon appreciates the…

All the boys deserted Ralph, Piggy, and Simon and chose Jack’s tribe. While the two tribes are separated at the opposite sides of the island they still run into each other with conflicts in hand. Jack’s tribe did not have fire so they snuck up on Ralph's tribe and attacked them while sleeping. They stole Piggy’s glasses and left them with nothing against the spine-chilling night, “We’ve had a fight with the others” (167). Another issue was with the group of hunters that made their first kill when hunting while in charge of keeping the fire going. All the hunters that stayed back decided to leave the fire and to go kill the pig. With no one there to keep the fire going, it extinguished. Meanwhile, on the beach Ralph is looking out to sea and spies a thin line of smoke move across the sea, everyone jumped for joy, but then realized there was no smoke signal to catch the ship's attention. Returning from the forest, the hunters yelling out excitedly, “Kill the pig. Cut her throat. Spill her blood” (69). Ralph realizes that he can not do everything and feels the heat of being…

Oh, great!!! How can all these be happening to me now? My asthma is starting up again. I wish my Auntie were with me; everything would be different if she was right by me. She sure would not only help me ease my difficulty in breathing but even my disappointment. I can’t believe this! How could Ralph betray me? Why did he have to tell everyone what people in school used to call me? I already told him not to tell anyone. Now, everyone is mocking me and calling me ‘Piggy’. I really thought we were already friends after I went in the water with him. But somehow I felt that not everything was perfect because he was not really speaking to me that much. If only I had learnt how to swim, maybe he could have trusted me more… maybe he would have talked to me and listened to me more… But it was my idea to use the conch shell to call the other boys! I even taught him how to use it. Why couldn’t he like me more than Jack? I really thought he was a clever boy and I guess most of us here still think he is. That’s the main reason why he got the most votes to be the island leader. We thought he could help us be organised. But I’m not sure now about my judgment. I don’t understand how he could even choose Jack to lead the hunters. Can’t he see his character? Jack is never going to be a good leader. He just won’t because he doesn’t know how to treat people with fairness and kindness. I think he doesn’t have a heart. Imagine, he just let that boy who fainted alone on the rock. If he’s got the heart of a leader, he should have done something to help that poor boy. I wonder what Ralph saw in him really. Oh, It must because he is not fat as me… I feel like I am starting to hate myself again. Asthma, fat built, less friends. I really miss my Auntie. I wish this was just a bad dream. I hope things will be ok. I hope Ralph will listen to my opinions. I really hope we can be good friends!…

Some people on this island just don't realize that they've got to put first things first if they ever want to be rescued. Today we could have been saved by a passing ship, had Jack and his stupid hunters paid attention to the rescue fire. You see, it's their job to maintain and watch the fire. Unfortunately, Jack and his hunters picked today of all days to neglect the fire and when a ship passed by the island, there was no signal to be seen because the fire was dead. When Jack and the hunters returned from their hunt, they were chanting a frightening chant and carrying a dead pig. Ralph reprimanded Jack for his lack of responsibility, and Jack got mad but he apologized. When I complained about the hunters' immaturity, Jack hit me real hard and broke one of the lenses of my…
