Long-Term Care: Nursing Home
Long-term care facility (LTCF) is a type of facilities that provides medical and personal care to elderly people whose families can no longer can take care of them. It is also known as "nursing home". Long-term care is provided in different places depending on a person's needs. It can be provided in home or in a facility such as adult day care center.
Those facilities most common type is personal care, they help patients in their daily activities like bathing, eating, clothing etc. Long-term care can last a short or long period of time. Short-term care lasts several weeks or a few months to recover from an illness or injury like patients who had surgeries. While long-term care lasts forever for ongoing health condition or disability like Alzheimer's
