Lizzie Borden Research Paper
Have you ever wanted revenge on your parents? Lizzie Borden was accused of the murder of her father and stepmother at the age of 31. I deem Lizzie guilty of the murder of her stepmother. Also, I think Bridget Sullivan, their servant was responsible for the murder of Abby Borden. According to source #3, Lizzie tried buying poison just days before the murders of her father and stepmother. She claimed the reason for the poison was to clean a sealskin cape. Plus she burned a dress the day after being named a suspect. In my opinion, most of the evidence points to Lizzie

First off, Lizzie tried purchasing poison before both murders. Also, she burned a “Paint stained” dress. According to source #3, Lizzie tried buying poison just days before the

Lizzie was the only alive person in the house when her step mother was murdered. Bridget was outside washing windows. Father was taking care of business. John was in town. Lizzie’s sister was out of town with friends. Lizzie also gave very brief answers when she was investigated. She claimed to hear a small noise around the time of the murders. I'm pretty sure it would be loud enough to be suspicious. This just doesn't all add up to me.

Finally, I think Bridget killed Andrew Borden. She was “asleep” when this happened. Although it wasn’t like a woman to do anything like this, two girls were murders that day. According to MondoLizzie.com (The website that created the video we watched), bridget was the only alive person in the house when Andrew was killed. She immediately ran downstairs when she heard Lizzie screaming. She claimed she was asleep. Also, she was never really talked about after this. Lizzie and Bridget were responsible for the murders of Andrew and Abbi Borden.

All in all, I think there were two murders that day. Lizzie being the murder of Abbi and Briget the killer of Andrew. The poison Lizzie tried and purchasing, and the fact Lizzie and Bridget were the only people at the house all day makes me believe this. Lizzie was not completely guilty, but also not completely innocent. In conclusion, the police probably should have looked more into this at the

For starters, they did not collect the clothes that Lizzie had been wearing while present at the crime scene. This could have been helpful in the trial to persecute Lizzie if they had taken it and found traces of blood on it. Instead, Lizzie had kept the dress and later burned it, destroying any evidence that may have been on it. Investigators also failed to question people who were close with Lizzie (asides from her sister who was of no help). By questioning those close to her, investigators could have gained information about what Lizzie’s home life was like and if she had any hidden anger directed towards either of her…

They could try and state that she did not poison Mr. Navidad because she was not the only one that had the opportunity. We used her surveillance footage times being off as a point of her lying. They could say she just forgot the exact times. They could say she was just in the wrong place at the wrong time. Her fingerprints were not at the crime scene. Ms. Brown’s hair was found there o why not accuse her of the murder. Even though the defense team might have had some arguments I can fight back and respond to all of them. We did a forensic test to prove that only Mrs. Mulroy could have poisoned him because she was the only one that had the opportunity to have put the poison in the cola. The test came back negative on the ice cubes so that ruled out Ms. Brown. Yes she could have forgotten but she left out major points in her interrogation trying to throw us off. She had a motive to kill him. She did have a meeting with him to give her an opportunity to kill him like she had planned. We did not run a DNA test to prove that any kind of hair material or DNA found. That is her office so of course her hair is in her…

Bridget Bishop was the first person to be hanged in the Salem Witch Trials. Since there were no official records, it was believed that she was born between the years of 1632 and 1637. She had one child of her own from her first marriage and had two stepchildren, who later accused her of killing their fathers, and testified, at her second trial. While there are no records of her mother and father, she did have their last name, Playford/ Playfer, no paper trails could be found on their births and deaths. Bridget’s first husband has no information on what happened to him after his marriage to Bridget. She and her second husband fought a lot, he left bruises on her. One evening her husband died, many people had accused her of killing him with…

-Some of the other inconsistencies were found in the case when the evidence was re-examined is who after poisoning a victim cuts up the victim, usually when someone murders a person by poisoning they want it to look like a natural death. Also the forensic scientist found the poison of the body three days after searching Crippen's house and only two people were there, this is a bit suspicious. I…

Lizzie Borden Has to be guilty. First her alibi ended up not checking out. Next was the rather shady behavior. Finally, the destruction of evidence. So because of these reasons her guilt will be proved. I will start with her alibi and others, and if they checked out. First off, John Morse must be innocent. According to the testimony (Morse, 1893) Mr.Morse was out the morning of the murder to run an errand and see his niece. This was in fact confirmed be his niece when she was questioned. Also, Emma Borden is innocent. According to (Linder, 2004) she was away from the home the day and time of the murders meaning she is entirely unlinked to the murders. Proof of this she was spotted at the presumed time of the murders and the time the bodies…

For many years people have been fascinated with murder cases. There have been many cases throughout the U.S. that many people have been interested in. Such a case is the Lizzie Borden case. Evidence has proved that Lizzie Borden murdered her parents because; of her poor relationship with her step-mother, her resentment of her father, and her mental instability. On August 4, 1892, Lizzie Borden committed the gruesome atrocity of bludgeoning Andrew and Abby Borden to death. (Linder, 2004) The reason behind this was, she had a poor relationship with her step-mother, Abby Borden. During her interrogation she told detectives when they referred to Abby as her mother, “She is not my mother, sir, she is my stepmother. My mother died when I was a child.” (King, 2016) This shows that Lizzie never viewed Abby as her mother. Moreover, Lizzie and Abby hardly spoke. Lizzie hadn't eaten with her parents for five years. (King, 2016) This shows Lizzie had a tense relationship with Abby for quite some time. In conclusion, Lizzie's relationship with Abby had been tense for years. Lizzie also happened to resent her father, Andrew Borden. For instance, she resented her father for giving Abby more things than her. Andrew gave Abby a property which made Lizzie resent her father and loathe Abby even more. Furthermore, Andrew killed pigeons in his barn that Lizzie had built a roost for. (Linder, 2017) Lizzie was said to of yelled at her father. All in all, Lizzie also had the motive to murder her father. Lastly, she murdered her family due to her mental instability. She was accused of committing crimes before the murder. In 1891 Lizzie…

How would you feel if you had a murderer living nearby? Well, in August 1892, Andrew Borden and Abby Durfee Borden were killed in the Borden house with an axe. Lizzie, their daughter, was a suspect. The council found her innocent, because of the lack of physical evidence, however, now they are uncovering new and important information that is leading toward both ways. I believe that the council was wrong, and Lizzie Borden is guilty. Many pieces of evidence points to Lizzie being the murderer of her parents. Lizzie Borden is guilty because she was in the barn before the murder, burned a dress after the murder, and told the neighbor some unusual news about Andrew Borden, her father.…

    1. If not Lizzie, then who? Only Lizzie had a good opportunity to commit the murders. At the time of her mother's murder (around 9:30 A.M.), household guest John Morse was visiting relatives, sister Emma was out of town, Andrew Borden was running errands around town, and maid Bridget Sullivan was outside washing windows. Only Lizzie was known to be in the house at the time of Abby Borden's murder. To commit both murders (Andrew Borden was murdered around 11 A.M.), an outside intruder would have either have had to hide in the house for 90 minutes or departed and then returned without being seen.…

Life in Salem was very restrictive for any one, any variations of having fun were a sign of the devils work, like dancing. So the villagers were very serious in all matters. For example if verbal threats or curses came true, it was seen as the devils influence. They also had a wearied way of judging people. If somebody confessed to seeing the devil and wanted to be blessed by God, then they would not be punished. However, if they didn't see him or had any influence, then they were considered a devil worshiper. It was therefore better in those days to say that you were in the devils influence, and wanted to be blessed than saying that you were not. There are a number of characters to which some degree of blame could be attributed. One of these characters is Abigail. Abigail is the character who really gets the whole thing started e.g the leader of the group/ girls she also kept them in line by (in knower day term) black mail by that they had don the dance together and they were as much to blame as she was even though she is the one that took it to the next level by drinking the animals blood. She first openly admits to dancing in the woods to her uncle and when the pressure is put on her she says that it was to be blame on witchcraft. She uses the situation to her advantage and manages to get back at Elisabeth Proctor who has ‘blackened' her name in the village She influenced them more by one or two where running around wile unrevealing there clothes witch will be also seen as the next step up of the devils influence but she twisted it to any one can get the finger of blame. She always blamed other people for her misfortune never did she blame her self for what she made happen. She was very clever with her words. She twisted her words so good that she eventually terns it back on her self destroying the one true thing she loved. Rev Parris was to…

The real motive for Sandra and Elizabeth Andersen to kill their mother Linda Anderson was based on greed and power. Thus, insuring the fact that the two sisters should have received an adult sentence. “Probation continued to be the most common type of youth court sentence, imposed in 58% of all guilty youth court cases in 2011/2012.” Most of these cases involved theft or minor crimes therefor these girls were part of that 42% that don’t get off that easy. The major reason these girls needed to be arrested was their initial motive to drown their mother. While talking to the police and their confession to the family friend the daughters stated the mother was "wasting...money on alcohol" as well as had abusive boyfriends that turned out to be false. The only truth they got from them was they were unhappy that their friends had "better things like swimming pools and clothes". Then found search history of the girls planning on killing the mother. They conversed but then the man snatched her and hurled her onto the hard street. Assuming that the two were a couple having a dispute, Shwartz traversed the street as he did it want to meddle in the situation. At the morgue, he had indicated that the woman was Elizabeth Stride. Jack the Ripper was supposedly seen by several other bystanders before or after the murders, however he still evaded capture. Many people had became exasperated with the police's efforts as one put,“The police, however, are positively helpless, and their tacit admission of failure to bud any clue to the perpetrator of the terrible crimes only serves ‘to add’ to the consternation of the unfortunate creatures whose calling has manifestly made the, the objects of the inhuman butcher’s fury.” While there were clues, the police had yet to solve the puzzle to connect may of it to a proper suspect to sentence for jailing. With that, Jack the Ripper’s file was shut with pin four years of his (most likely) last murder of Mary Kelly. Although there are many suspects, none were the answer to who the real killer was. Each Ripper victim has been observed thoroughly, with no detail overturned. When trying to find a…
