Live Action: Social Media Analysis
Live Action is a non-partisan and non-profit organization that promotes the “Pro-Life” movement. The organization was founded by Lila Rose at the age of 15 and has since grown to oversee not only the largest pro-life social media platform on the web, but has over 1,050,000 Facebook fans and over 55k Twitter followers as well as hosting a “pro-life” news site called Live Action News. Since its inauguration they have been dedicated to promoting “life” and ending abortion, which they feel is “the greatest human rights injustice of our time” (LiveAction 2015). Additionally, in their quest to educate today’s youth, they also provide educational programs that not only focus on human dignity, but equal protection for all as well as teaching the truth about abortion and its industry. …show more content…
Some of the more recent undercover investigations have been that of the infamous Planned Parenthood. Moreover, they have also exposed companies such Thirty-One, a Christian based bag and accessory company that was indirectly affiliated with and/or donating to Planned Parenthood which they find contradictive to Christian beliefs. Ultimately, Live Action believes that life begins at conception which is a belief I firmly agree with and therefore, support their crusade to terminate any and all anti-life movements. The secular ideology that seems to promote acceptance of any and all decisions without consequence only confirms that the absence of God is real. Many like Planned Parenthood claim that they support and are there to protect “all” rights yet, they don’t consider the right of the unborn as they don’t consider the fetus as nothing more than a multitude of cells and therefore, the idea to terminate is easily digested. However, several medical textbooks contain quotes confirming that life begins at

Planned Parenthood has been in the makings since 1916. The organization started out as a health clinic that offered free birth control to women. It continued to progress over the years until 1942 the organization, which was called Little Rock Birth Control Clinic at the time, changed to Planned Parenthood. The organization still goes by this name to this day. Although the organization offers much more than just free birth control to women. In fact, in recent times the organization has become the center of attention for many groups of people because of one of their most popular services; abortion. Most people see abortion as an equivalent to murder. Many people claim that if a woman did not want to have a baby she should not have participated…

It’s a little unclear as to what the group actually does. I understand that they pray outside of Planned Pregnancy Clinics, but what else do they do at their rallies. I think the author should have had Mary Patterson describe what a normal activity for Arizona Teens for Life is like. It would really help strengthen Mary Patterson’s cause if we could get inside and see what she is doing. Just one example of the events that take place during one of her prayers outside the abortion clinics would clear this up.…

Laury Oaks article “What are Pro-Life Feminists Doing on Campus?” from 2009, gives us a clear definition of what a “pro-life feminist” is but not why “it is”. Her writing brings light and awareness to a version of feminism. Many do not realize there are a few different types of feminisms out there and surprisingly not all of them are advocates for the pro-choice movements. These contrasting types of feminism all feel strongly about their cause, and will have always have strong argument and stronger counter argument to their cause, but by reading Oaks’ article we can assert that all are fighting to be the “true”…

    Planned Parenthood Summary

Planned Parenthood itself isn’t necessarily the problem, but the people that oppose it. Christian Policy Analysist, Sarah Torre, has many things to say on the issue of Planned Parenthood, although she doesn’t necessarily try to see it from a side other than hers. While reflecting upon rumors about Planned Parenthood selling tissue and body parts of unborn babies, Torre presents that government funding needs to be cut entirely from the organization. She supports her argument by making claims such as Planned Parenthood has enough money, and that there are enough other places for women to get the care and services provided there. Being the leading abortion provider in the US is the authors top reason, however, for prompting her “defund Planned Parenthood” campaign, even though abortions only make up about 3% of all services provided. She claims it is immoral for taxpayers, especially those who are against abortion, to be required to pay for an affiliation that provides the very thing they are so much against. The fact seems to be forgotten that although not everybody believes that healthcare, such as programs provided by the Affordable Care Act, are not approved or liked by everyone. Even so, everybody has to pay taxes that fund these programs, and really how is it different from taxpayers money going to Planned Parenthood? Although she is a woman, Torre seems to have forgotten the battles waged in order for women to have free reign of their own bodies, including the right to choose whether or not they should abort a baby that is unwanted. American’s in general need to realize that women should not be dictated by men, or other women for that matter, no matter where they are coming from. Opinions are not always wanted, and just because someone believes something does not make it right for them to force their beliefs onto other people. Americans need to have…

A commandment given to believer in Christ is to not murder on another. There are many referenced to not committing murder in the Bible, but the specific commandment was given in Exodus 20:13, this is one of the ten commandments. Not only is murder a sin, it is also goes against the United States constitution. By the Government funding Planned Parenthood it is giving women to opportunity to commit murder. Also, in Deuteronomy 30:19, the Lord says, “I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live…” (BIBLE). Women who choose to terminate their pregnancy are going against God’s word. They are not choosing life, instead they are choosing death for their seed. In 1 Corinthians 6:19-20, God calls believers to treat our bodies like a temple, he would not consider having a child ripped from one’s self to be honoring to their body. God views Planned Parenthoods actions as disobedient, dishonoring, and as murder. For these reasons Planned Parenthood should not receive Federal…

For my research and message planning assignment, I chose to look further into Planned Parenthood as a non-profit organization. Planned Parenthood is an organization that has been around for over 100 years, as it was founded in October of 1916. Some of the many resources that are offered at these facilities are free or cheap access to women’s reproductive health- including papsmears, mammograms, and STD checks. Other services offered are access to abortion and contraception for all women; this is where the negative perception comes into play. It’s been a long and ongoing battle with separation of church and state, but somehow the the morality issues still play such a damaging role in the perception of what Planned Parenthood is really providing.…

However, what about separation of church and state? If abortion was illegal mainly because of religious groups, wouldn’t that be a breach of our first amendment? Pro-life groups feel that fetuses are humans; therefore, the act of abortion is wrong to do. While fetuses have the potential of human life, they are fetuses or embryos. They cannot survive on their own or have any human functions until later in pregnancy when they are usually not aborted. Although, stating that abortion is murder seems like more of an opinion than a fact. Actually, “a fetus is not legally or scientifically a person or human being so abortion cannot be equated to murder or taking a life since the fetus is not a person nor alive” ("Why Abortion Should Be Legal"). The only way a fetus is surviving is because it’s relying on a mother for nutrients, much like a parasite would. Now that doesn’t mean that a fetus is a parasite, but it is similar in the way it relies on its host. “Embryos and fetuses are not independent, self-determining beings, and abortion is the termination of a pregnancy, not a baby. A person's…

The Congressional hearing is another step to punishing the company for breaking laws. Planned Parenthood is altering their abortion techniques to get better organs, for example in a way that the heart would still be beating or fully functioning. Doing so may profit them, but could potentially harm the mother of the unborn fetus. This is pro-choice because it is defending the mother against harmful techniques to fulfill her wish to rid of the baby. The Congressional hearing isn’t being used to put a stop to the abortion clinic completely but rather punish Planned Parenthood for violating federal laws. Another piece of evidence about the community being pro-choice is the way the quotes from employees of Planned Parenthood are used. For example, Planned Parenthood’s Dr. Savita Ginde stated, “We don’t want to do just a flat-fee per baby of like, $200. A per-item thing works a little better, just because we can see how much we can get out of it”. The usage of this quote makes the reader feel disgusted towards Planned Parenthood for trying to make such a large profit on the sales of aborted babies, thus trying to persuade the…

Pro –life and pro-choice movements are gaining popularity and quantity after the election of the new president and his plans regarding the issue of abortion. One of the main corporations that support abortions that is under heavy scrutiny is Planned Parenthood. President Trump requested Planned Parenthood to stop preforming abortions in order to maintain their federal funding. While many of the pro-life movement members believe that the disbanding of Planned Parenthood will have a significant impact on the amount of abortions that are preformed, they are wrong. The majority of the women receive services other than abortion at Planned Parenthood such as cancer screenings, contraception, and testing for sexually transmitted diseases. (3). While…

It didn’t occur to me that these people were here to oppose Planned Parenthood, not for what they stood for, but because they decided to give women the choice over their own bodies. Less than a year before, I joined planned parenthood in a youth program to teach comprehensive sexual education in my surrounding area. This included things from anatomy, to contraception, all the way to the dynamics of a healthy relationship. This had opened my eyes to all the good that Planned Parenthood does, and is what brought me to volunteer. All of the thoughts of all of the good that Planned Parenthood does filled my head as I opened the door to greet the first terrified woman. She stepped out of her car, introduced herself, and we proceeded towards the clinic. Lucy, the first woman to enter the clinic, was five months pregnant and was there to hopefully find out the sex of her new child. Unfortunately, the people waiting outside the clinic didn’t know that. They were under the assumption that Lucy was at the clinic in order to abort her unborn child, and they were determined to convince her to change her mind. Between the shouts of the protesters I did my best to calm Lucy, to no avail. As we neared the door, I could feel the pure fear that surged through Lucy as the “peaceful” bystanders yelled things like “ Woman regret killing their baby ma’am, don’t…

The battle for women’s reproductive rights is constantly at risk with conservative legislators across America, and the globe, systematically attempting to decrease a woman's choice and resources through bills passed at the federal and state level. Reproductive rights include the right to contraceptives, emergency contraceptives, abortions, sex education, STD/STI testings, screenings for breast cancer and cervical cancer, Pap tests, fertility tests, and much more. Certain health insurances, or lack thereof, make it very difficult for low-income families and women to be able to afford reproductive health services on their own. The non-profit organization, Planned parenthood, has long been the one of the nation’s leading providers of affordable health care and sex education for women, men, and youth since it was founded in 1916. While it provides services for all genders, it’s most apparent role in today’s society is the support it provides for women’s reproductive rights through reproductive health services in the United States of America and globally. Planned Parenthood provides these…

Blurb: Health care debate is driving many young feminists to fight for abortion rights. Insurance companies are now trying to refuse payment towards abortions. If the bill is passed no health care plan would be required to offer coverage for such procedure. This is now becoming an issue towards woman because they feel as if they have to compromise with these rights in order to receive health care reform. Many organizations have come together to help fight for better rights, some including Planned Parenthood and the Feminist Majority Foundation.…
