Linda Mccall Career Path
Linda McCall, a senior in the DMIN program, an associate pastor who wears many hats at Hickory Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Ramer, Alabama, the establisher of Women at Well Ministry, and Co-CEO of Feeding the Multitude Ministry of 17 years.
The career path started when God instructed to resign from the eight years, and a half job as a Medical Lab Technician and then the journey began. The resignation was the beginning that impacted the faith and change of the way God appeared in my life as a believer. I continue the journey in tears walking door-door as an Avon Representative not understanding why God told me to resign from a job I loved to go door-door. The Lord gave the answer to one of my high school classmate who was one of my customers

Several years ago I graduated from high school and entered community college to start my studies for pre-med, but as I grew closer to graduation I saw the challenges in this career path. Then, I decided to change the major to Nursing in order for my credits to transfer from premed and make years spent in college less than in the Premed program. Both careers are highly competitive and honored in all countries of this world. My main goal is to join a profession that will help me interact with people and show people Christ’s love for all humankind through myself. It’s a blessing to help people with their problems and be by their side when they need it as God does in our lives. So, now I having difficulties with standing with my decisions and believing that I will overcome these failures. I want my purpose in life to follow with what God wants me to do and not feel pressured by family or society. There are times in my life when I feel hopeless and abandoned by everyone. I want to stay strong, but my emotions take over me and cause me emotional distress. This allows me to lose faith and trust in God when nothing seems to be going the way I want in life.…

Most teenagers do not have a clue about what they want to be when they grow up. Most young adults also do not know where their path is in life. Even some full-blown adults are still trying to figure out their purpose. I was lucky. I knew exactly where I belonged from about the time I was seven up until now, at the decently young age of nineteen. I do not see my path changing anytime soon; in fact, I know it will never change. But, I did not just wake up one day as a child and know what my path was, while that would be impressive. Defining moments in one’s life defines who they are. There were lots of things I experienced in my life that made me realize my purpose, my absolute passion. I had four of these defining moments in my short span of…

A strong sense determination has always been a key part of who I am. I've always felt that, like driving a car, unless you take control of your life and grab the steering wheel, you won't get very far, or go in the right direction. In a world full of indecision, seldom do you find someone who knows exactly who or what they want to be in life; someone who bears determination, dedication, and motivation towards their goal. Happiness is knowing one’s potential and acting on it. My ambition in life is to help others reach their goals. This is what drives me. I want to be a social worker for the disabled and rehabilitation. Getting out of bed in the morning for an average person doesn’t require too much effort, but somewhere in the world a 10 year old little girl is missing both of her legs. No one cares, no one took the time out of there busy schedule to believe in her. Somewhere in the world, a mother is telling her little boy why daddy can’t play catch anymore. The neighbors stare in disgust; they don’t know he had his arm blown off by a landmine in Vietnam while defending his country. Someday I will be the one to teach the little boy with a lung disease how to sing, and the kid with the prosthetic foot how to walk. I get my inspiration from my father. My father was born with a mild form of cerebral palsy; a condition due to a lack of sufficient oxygen at birth causing a disability in his legs. This was no one’s fault, his parents and family loved him very much, yet he has had a struggle all his life. He spent much of his childhood in surgery and recovery, including near 2 years in a swimming pool learning how to walk. While other children were learning to run, he was learning to crawl. While other children were learning mathematics, he was in a hospital room. Throughout his life he suffered the inhumanity and absence of compassion that was to be expected from his attending school. Friends weren’t friends; people have a tendency to treat those with…

Choosing a career is easy, but sticking with that choice is one of life’s greatest challenges. I was never able to choose a career, because poverty and abuse tricked me into believing that I wouldn’t have a future anywhere. Once I sought shelter at a local non-profit organization in my free time, my volunteer work made it all change, and led to my decision for a career in human services.…

My professional career is a very fulfilling one in which it is imperative that I present myself in a clear and concise image of God. Without being strong in my Christian faith this would not be a possibility. I work for Milton Hershey School which is a no-cost private school for children that come from poverty. On a daily basis I have the responsibilities of protecting two thousand underprivileged children assuring their safety. Living in an image of God allows me to protect the many children that come from poverty, as well as to interact in a professional manner with visitors to the campus.…
