Lil B Song Analysis
My favorite historic song is the song cold war. The artist of the song is the rapper Lil B, the song is about basically african americans dying to try to impress others instead of being themselves. When in reality people should do what makes them happy instead of trying to impress other man or women . My opinion on the artist Lil b is that he is a fun guy and he is funny but when it comes time to be serious he can come up to the table and make a decent song about issues. The most powerful lyric throughout the song is “ Everybody want the throne and then you gonna die alone”, it is powerful to me because it is just stating that while everybody is trying to become the “man” in today's society they should look to improve themselves instead of trying to show off for others. The artist experienced the majority of his friends die over costless things in his neighborhood in Los Angeles. …show more content…
The next song on my EP will be the song “Tie my hands”. Made by Lil Wayne and Robin Thicke. The issue in the song is the fact that during the hurricane katrina the people was pretty much abandoned by the country and they was not helped in the manner that you would expect by the great country that we live in. My opinion on Lil Wayne is that he is a very strong lyrist and can say deep things that others wouldn’t normally comprehend. The most powerful line in the song is the line “I knock on the door, hope isn’t home fate’s not around the luck is all gone”. Meaning that when them individuals during the aftermath asked needed help no one would give them that and a lot of people's fate was death or being seriously hurt. The event took place in Lil Wayne hometown Louisiana which is way he was so moved to do a song about

I wanna be contigo, and live contigo, and dance contigo, para have contigo, una noche loca”. This is the chorus to Enrique Iglesias’ billboard hit, Bailando. If you listen to the song you can hear the rhythm of reggae, hip hop, Spanish flamenco, reggaeton among a cacophony of other sound. I hear beauty, see color and feel joy when I listen to this song. The success of this song according to Gary Trust, associate director of charts is due to “the fact that a quarter of this country’s youths are Latino. He comments that the market is so diverse that Latino artists don’t have to pick just one language or two.…

Boyz n The Hood depicted a troubling but accurate picture of how government enforced development and displacement led to crime, poverty, and lack of opportunities to those living in South Central Los Angeles. Motivated by racist agendas, the government aided in the displacement of African Americans after WWII into racially segregated areas that were impoverished and lacked opportunities to succeed. (Wiggins, 2016) The ‘War on Drugs’ administered by the Nixon administration placed thousands of young African Americans in jail and aided in the insertion of crack cocaine into South Central which caused the crime and gang activity to rise. (Grim, 2014) Through these examples, it is evident that the government placed importance on the development of the white population more than it did for the development of the black population.…

One of my favorite songs, recently, has been J. Cole’s Love Yourz. This song relate to feelings that we can all relate to, feelings of envy and jealously. We often look at the life styles of those around us, and we see what they have, and we compare ourselves to them. We feel that if we don’t live a certain life style or drive a fancy car that we are not living a purposeful life. We fall into the trap of focusing on others blessings and ignoring our own. From personal experience I have done this. I have looked at the blessing of others, and wondered why my blessings were not the same.…

There are wires growing out of everyone’s ears. That is, to listen to music. Music is an infinite source, whether that source is for lifting up spirits, expressing underlying pain and anger, or just merely a distraction. Music from well-developed Broadway musicals to a series of beats at a party, it is something we all have done: listen to music. Some even say that music defines us but it that really true? Is our music the soundtrack of who we each are? Do what we listen to support our core values in life? To answer this I sought out the one song I listened to most, “This Kiss” by Alex Days and Carrie Hope Fletcher, and interpreted its lyrics to see if it matched with my core values of commitment, happiness, and love.…

Many people have produced odes to Obama’s presidency and the contributions of the slaves that helped build the America that we know today. Hip-hop influenced a spirit of positive uprising against the all too similar unfair treatment of black people in america, beginning with the death of Trayvon Martin to Sandra Bland, but also supports feminism, the LGBTQIA+ community, and other persons of color with their stands against injustice. Moreover, Sir, you asserted that “ Its structure is unique, complex, and at times bewildering”(McBride 8). Many acts are continuing this properties you described like Hamilton. Through the performers in Hamilton, a history lesson is attained because it is imperative to understand the events that occurred to prevent an even more detrimental resurgence. To add on, you discussed on how your generation continues to misconstrue it when they should be embracing its greatness. Mr. McBride, you established that “...despite all attempts to exploit it, belittle it, numb it, classify it, and analyze it, hip-hop remains...” (McBride 8). Numerous artists artists are using this voice you described like J.Cole and Kendrick Lamar. Kendrick Lamar says in his 2010 song, “Ignorance is Bliss”,“No sympathy, ain't no love when you in these streets just get something/Protect ya neck cause they coming for sets”. “Hip Hop has always been bragging’ and boasting and i'm better at this than you and i'm better at that than you”(Eminem). Hip Hop will forever be a competitive activity. Hip Hop is the streets. Hip Hop is a couple of elements that it comes from back in the days… that feel of music with urgency that speaks to you. It speaks to your likelihood and its not compromised. Its blunt. Its raw, straight off the street from the beat to the voice to the words. Although hip hop may seem to encourage adolescents to engage in destructive behaviors , it inspires young people to connect to their cultures ; therefore hiphop should be recognized as a powerful art form.…
