I have always love horses, and as a little girl one of my favorite movies was Spirit: a movie set in the 1800s about a wild mustang who is captured by the U.S army and embarks on a long journey back home to his family. I loved this movie not only because of the many horses, but also because I related with Spirit’s struggles. When I was very young my parents got divorced and my dad won custody of my little sister and I. At that young age I felt like I lost my mother because even though I still got to talk to her on the phone, I missed her arms around me when I was sad and that special relationships mothers and daughters share. Spirit lost his mom when he was captured and so I felt like he understood me.…

Tyndale’s translation of Romans Chapter 8 is an almost exact replica of what you may find in the King James Bible. It starts off by telling the reading not to follow the will of the flesh, but to follow the guidance of the spirit. It also talks about how if we pursue our desires of the flesh, we must surely die. Tyndale recorded the Romans said we are saved by hope, and not by ourselves or our flesh, which…

In addictions counseling, the spiritual life review could be used as a definite resource to implement better services for the elderly. Older adults comprise one of the fastest growing demographics in the United States today, and are also described as the most spiritual and religious of all the age groups. (Lewis, 2001, p. 231) However, counselors need to be careful when it come to intermingling religious and spiritual beliefs to their clients. An effective client must be able to address issues dealing with the mind, body and spirit. The counselor needs to ensure that their views are not being expressed to the client. When a person reaches a certain age, they focus more on death because of the number of close friends and family members that are dying that may be close to their age. The elderly may be inclined to divert more towards spirituality or religion to cope with those circumstances.…

Sanders’s book on “Paul and Palestinian Judaism” opened a new threshold of understanding on Paul and the Law. However, this led the rise of the new perspectives on Paul in contrast to the traditional viewpoint. One of the centers of debates in these two scholarly perspectives is Paul and the Law. Scholars have employed different methods on different texts and have differing meanings. Therefore, this study attempts to propose how Paul understands the Law and its significance interpreting and analyzing Romans 8:2-4 considering as an important text more than the other texts because this text contains two expressions of the Law. Besides, the Law is harmonized with the Spirit with the indication that the obedience of the Law is realized in believers’ life through the mission of…
