Scared. dark. confused. with two pigtails and a stuffed animal in hand. 4 years old and leaving a home i had just come to know. Where were we going mom? What were we doing? " It’s gonna be alright hija,” she soothed me. I stared out the window, brown and green blurs passing in and out, knowing something big was to come.

I am one of 12 million immigrants who live in the U.S today. The reality of living life as an immigrant is worse than what people imagine. You are constantly living in fear and struggle, but it's still better than going back to a country that is full of violence and no opportunities. Many people think of us as criminals, but we came here for the same reasons our founding father's did. We want freedom, safety, opportunity and for all that we will risk our lives, leave our homeland, and family. …show more content…
I feel calling someone an illegal alien is such an offensive thing to say because you are basically calling them worthless and under you. We all came from the same planet just different regions. Being an immigrant has so many negative things associated with it. People think we come here to steal Americans money, jobs and opportunities. Being an immigrant has many struggles, like finding a job, not having health insurance and not being able to apply for any financial need programs in America.
