Leadership
“Having a great idea and assembling a team to bring that concept to life is the first step in creating a successful business venture.” (Prive, 2010, Para 1) Leaders have a variety of qualities because leadership can be passed down to others. Most employers are always looking for a great leader so having the skills and knowing what it takes to be a leader is always helpful. If you are a leader people respect you, look up to you and even want to be you. Some qualities that a leader may acquire are: honesty, ability to speak your opinion, trust, dedication and communication. Having leadership qualities is very essential in every job and environment.
To start with, leadership can be passed down. That is the essential concept of a leader. A leader is someone who sets a good example for others. A leader also is someone who can take charge and have a plan in any situation. A leader is someone that everyone else should want to be like. A leader is typically the first person to speak out or show guidance in a situation. Being a leader has a lot of responsibilities. “Leading a team properly requires several complementary efforts on the part of leaders.” (Andolsen, 2008 para 10) A leader has to be able to have people trust them. If people can’t trust what you are saying then they will not know whether or not to believe you and follow your lead.
Furthermore, leaders have to be honest and be able to speak their opinions. Leaders should be people who tell the truth. They should also be able to say what they feel and not feel shy about it. Leaders should be outspoken people that are ready to tell others why they should listen. Leaders are often looked up to because they are lost or don’t know what step to take next. Leaders should always urge people to do the right thing and encourage others to do the same. When working on something together, you should always push people looking up too you to go above and beyond what you have done. You always want to encourage younger people

We need to know the importance of being a leader by example. If someone wants to be a real leader, that person has to show this characteristic. Bring people up in work areas, if someone's having a hard time encourage them, affect them in a positive way. I mean think Adolf Hitler had the leader traits, but he used those skills for negative doings. Do not just speak like a positive example, but also be a positive example by showing it, do the right thing when nobody's watching, when with friends do not let them trick anyone into…

are stepping up to the challenge of leadership development and their results are quite tangible. In Leading the Way: Three Truths from the Top Companies for Leaders (John Wiley & Sons, 2004), a study of the top 20 companies for leadership development, Marc Effron and Robert Gandossy show that companies that excel at developing leaders tend to achieve higher long-term profitability. But it sometimes seems there are as many approaches to leadership development as there are leadership developers. One increasingly popular tool for developing leaders is executive coaching. Hay Group, a human resources consultancy, reported that half of 150 companies surveyed in 2002 said that they had increased their use of executive coaching, and 16 percent reported using coaches for the first time.…
