Kira Landon Character Analysis
How would you like to have been hypnotized and suddenly start remembering and imagining abnormal incidents and secrets in your mind without having a clue what they’re about? Well, that situation became real to Kira Landon one random night. She started having memories of being carried away from a war zone by her mother after her friends had hypnotized her at a slumber party and soon after, Kira’s mother disappears. She soon learned that there are memories locked in her mind that place her and her mother in grave danger, but those memories are also the only thing that might save them. Margaret Peterson Maddix tells the story of how she reveals the confusing memories her friends uncover. Kira’s mother, Sophia was a definitely a confusing, interesting …show more content…
She was a brave, fear-loving girl, so she took on the challenge. She began to have memories and questions that no one could find the answers to. From there, her life changed and never returned back to normal. Kira was a fun, fifteen-year-old who believed she moved from California to Ohio with only her mother and never had an unusual life. She never used computers or watched TV because her mother did not believe they were necessary. Until now, Kira knew nothing about her father, but she learned much about him. Alexei, Kira’s father, and Toria, Kira’s mother, was a genius who had built a system to replicate memory on a computer. Now her life, what used to be normal and boring, had turned into something interesting completely abnormal. Cora Jenkins is seemingly difficult to define static or dynamic at first. Throughout her story, her character suffers great tragedy, and hardship. Many people might describe Cora’s character as flat, rather than round because she does not fight against the facts of life: her drunken father, sickly mother, demanding employers or unplanned pregnancy from a transient lover. Cora is steadfast in her work and love until it is impossible to keep silent and stifled any longer. She railed against fate when death struck her baby. Cora denounced the women responsible for the injustice done to Jessie, the daughter she adopted in her heart. In conclusion, Cora is a dynamic character because you understand her struggles, feel her pain and in the end, applaud…

Lena Lingard intrigues me. She’s gentle even though she’s lived on the farm her entire life and she manages to make the littlest things exciting with her charisma. In ways, her adventurousness and excitement make her similar to Tony. However, they differ in that Ántonia possesses a quiet beauty and inner strength that contrasts with Lena’s liveliness. It’s strange-- I dream the same dream “a great many times, and it [is] always the same. I [am] in a harvest-field full of shocks, and I [am] lying against one of them. Lena Lingard [comes] across the stubble barefoot, in a short skirt, with a curved reaping-hook in her hand, and she [is] flushed like the dawn, with a kind of luminous rosiness all about her. She [sits] down beside me, [turns] to me with a soft sigh and said, ‘Now they are all gone, and I can kiss you as much as I like.’ I...wish I could have this flattering dream about Ántonia, but I never [do].” (109) I love Ántonia and her steady independence but I cannot see her in my dreams in…

Duras redetermines the idea of the character in Savannah Bay. The three characters of Madeleine, Jeune Femme and Savannah cannot exist in their own rights. They all depend on each other’s action, memories, and admissions. Madeleine’s fragmented memories reflect her fragmented character. She is never a complete character, and the audience will never be granted a full picture of who she is. Jeune Femme is reliant on Madeleine for the representation of her mother, Savannah. Thus, it becomes unimportant to access the character of Jeune Femme, who, unlike Madeleine and Savannah, is not even accorded a name; she is merely a vessel present to retrieve information relating to the character of Savannah. Yet, Savannah is always absent. She is a character…

Characterization is refer to as the personality assigned to the individuals in the story. Tessie Hutchinson stands out because she arrives late to the lottery. Jackson set her apart from the other characters because the lottery is taken seriously, but Mrs. Hutchinson forgot what day it was as she was doing chores. At first, she was eager to join the lottery and even said “Get up there, Bill.” However she became desperate to get out of the situation when Bill draws the marked strip of paper and starts protesting, saying that it wasn’t fair. Jackson demonstrated how Mrs. Hutchinson was a hypocrite because the tradition never bothered her until she was chosen one.…

“Where are you going, Where have you been” is a famous story that was written by Joyce Carol Oates. In this story, Connie is fifteen years old girl and the main character. She seems to have always lived in her sister’s shadow, June, who was apparently better all-around. Connie seems to be the more attractive of the two due to which she felt that her attractive personality would succumb to pleasure in the arms of a random boy. One day, she decided to stay home as opposed to going to a barbecue with her family. At that time, Arnold Friend, the antagonist in Oates’ story drives up to Connie’s house. Connie is a character that represents the nature of epiphany in literature. Through Connie, we learn how a character can have a highly significant impact on an important work of literature and the person reading the story. Connie’s naïve understanding of the world and her immaturity led to her downfall in “Where are you Going, Where Have You Been?”…
