Problem Statement: The football League has to do things different. They are not scoring their games how everyone does. They thought of a scoring system:
Each field goal counts for 5 points
Each touchdown counts for 3 points.
The only way is to combine the field goals and the touchdowns somehow. Every score is not possible in their league. A score of 1 point isn’t possible, neither is 2 or 4. The task is to find out what is the highest impossible number you can’t make and explain how you for sure.

Process
- The first thing that I tried was making a list from 1 to 20. I checked and put x’s by the numbers you can make and numbers you cannot. This was pretty difficult for me to understand because I did not know what they were really asking me to do. I worked with some friends and they showed me how I can start. My teachers helped me by making sure I understand what was going on with the football league. I also made other scoring systems such as (2,7) and (3,9).
The highest number impossible for 2 and 7 is 5. I stop at 20 and from 1 to 20 the highest number impossible was 5. Every other number except for 1, 3, and 5 were checked. The highest number for 3 and 9 is 20. I also stop at 20 from 1. I think these numbers were the highest impossible numbers because they did not have any other numbers that can make that number equal.

Solutions- The highest number impossible is 7. I truly think its 7 because you cannot score 7 with either a 3 or a 5. Also I believe that the higher number is possible because they can all have numbers that can equal to them with no problem because they are getting larger. The pattern I saw when I was doing the points 5 and 3, and other scoring systems were the higher the number is the more possible numbers. I found that certain numbers can be impossible in 2 digits numbers and being higher because of the 2 number you picked. Self Assessment- I think I deserve a B because I tried my best to work this out even know I didn’t

Problem Statement: The POW starts off with the random 3-digit number 473 and number the problem says to arrange the digits from largest to smallest, which is 743. Then arrange the digits from smallest to largest, which is 347. The arrangement of the digits from least to greatest is subtracted from the arrangement of those same digits from greatest to least. The problem we ultimately end up doing is 473-347 and the difference is 396. The problem asks the students to continue the process of choosing a number, arranging its digits so the lowest arrangement of the digits is subtracted from the highest arrangement of the digits. The problem also asks the readers to test out the steps using 3, 4, 5, 6 and so forth and explain what they discover.…

Going up by 35's (161, 206, 231, 276, …) finally led us to 721. An answer that worked! Everyone in the group double-checked it and we found an answer. Now is it the only answer. We realized that the answer had to be odd (because any number divided by two with one left over is odd) so we could go up by 70's.…

The new rules in the National Football League are changing the way the game is being played and the way it affects the players. One of the many ways it affects the players is benefiting their health, and that’s why most of the new rules are added into the NFL. There is an average of 128 concussions per year and about nine concussions per week. There are positive ends and negative ends of the whole situation that can make the game boring for the players and also the spectators. This also makes the game safer for the players in their long-term life from their kids to their own health. The NFL could be changing for the better, or for the worse of it.…

As Head Coach of the Saint Joseph’s Catholic Prep School Knights basketball team, there is a constant need for developing players that have never played before and allowing experienced players the ability to compete to win. The dilemma that these two goals create is the balancing act that must be done in order to ensure both types of players are allowed to grow and develop but at the same time be able to compete for a championship. In order for either type of player to reach their goals they both need game playing experience and playing time. Figuring out a fair way to divvy out playing time so that both goals can be met is a tricky process and for the most part has been all decided upon by feel or opinion. Creating a program to solve this would justify playing time decisions by showing actual reasons for deserving more time per player with statistical facts to back those decisions up.…
