Kerridge's Ethical Decision-Making Model
When dealing with complex situations with ethical dilemmas, controversial debates on human rights, and legislations, it is important for a social worker to be critically reflective and refer to the human rights charter, and the ethical codes of practice.
Sophie is a sixteen year old living in Regional Victoria, and is nineteen weeks pregnant.
The predominant ethical dilemma in this scenario is Sophie’s right to decide what she wants to do in regards to her pregnancy, weighing up three different options that are outlined in Appendix B, C and D. Kerridge’s (2009) model for Ethical Decision- Making is utilized to explore this case scenario and ethical decision making.

    I choose Mill 's, because Mill believes that we as people have control over our actions and within our conscience minds, we know right from wrong. Mill’s Principle of Utility is the easiest for a majority of people to follow.
