Kappa Gamm Fraternity Case Study
The Fraternity Council of Kappa Kappa Gamma is responsible for overseeing the mission and purpose of the Fraternity. The duties of the Fraternity Council include developing the strategic plan, making policy decisions, determining financing for initiatives and monitoring their execution. Members must be willing to attend the requisite meetings, follow through on commitments and fully participate in the decision-making process.

Role of the Fraternity Council:
• Promote the mission and determine the vision of the Fraternity.
• Act as the fiduciary and guardian of Fraternity assets.
• Establish short- and long-term goals.
• Assess progress toward goals.
• Set policies for the overall management and operation of the Fraternity.

• Work collaboratively and cooperatively with staff and stakeholders.
• Refrain from actions and involvement that might prove embarrassing to Kappa Kappa Gamma. Respectfully resign if such actions or involvement develops.
• Act as an informed advocate of Kappa Kappa Gamma.

Responsibilities of the Fraternity Council:
• Develop and support the Fraternity strategic plan to address future needs and events.
• Interpret the Fraternity Bylaws and Standing Rules between General Conventions and formulate Fraternity Policies as necessary.
• Approve the engagement of professional services as necessary.
• Maintain jurisdiction over all cases of Loss of Membership from the Fraternity as well as reinstatement.
• Make appointments as necessary.
• Elect representatives to serve on the Foundation Board of Trustees as provided for in the Code of Regulations of the Kappa Kappa Gamma Foundation.
• Collaborate with the Kappa Kappa Gamma Foundation to achieve mutual goals.
• Study trends, annually assess the ever-changing environment and approve the Fraternity’s strategy to be responsive.
