Dear Mr. Smith:

Enclosed is a copy of my justification report regarding the funding and replacement of the current office coffee maker with the Keurig coffee maker. This report is a summary of my findings from the last year of working in the office and separate research conducted outside of the office. This document will assist in justifying the funding for a new and improved method of coffee preparation for the office. This report was completed at no cost to the company. The research and time to complete this report was conducted during off hours.

This report includes cost information for both the current model of coffee maker and the proposed Keurig coffee maker. I also included cost comparison for the consumables used by each of the coffee makers during a one-year period. Through this research I have not only found a solution to the immediate issues surrounding the cleanliness of the office kitchen, there is an additional benefit of using this coffee maker that will improve the current coffee fund profit model.

If you have any questions concerning the information used in this report or its outcome, please feel free to contact me at the phone number or email listed above.

Sincerely,

Eric XXXX

Executive Summary

The Operations office is the center of all unit activities. Members of the Operations office can be found hard at work solving a myriad of complex tasks. Coffee is enjoyed by every member of the Operations office and is helpful in maintaining focus and keeping workers in a high state of alert. Coffee is available to all for 50 cents a cup or by paying $5.00 a week or $1.00 a day to the office coffee fund. This system has been in place for as long as anyone can remember. Below I have highlighted several of the key issues associated with this system.

• Coffee strength is not consistent.
• Coffee that is not consumed in a short period of time is thrown out due to it tasting burned. • Coffee pot is not cleaned before a fresh pot of coffee is made. • People do not consistently pay their coffee dues.

• Pouring coffee from the pot to the cup creates a messy area. • People do not clean their mess.
• A fresh pot of coffee is not always started after the last cup has been poured. • Coffee that has been started too late in the day is usually thrown out.

A Keurig coffee maker will do away with most of these problems. Introduction

Why is coffee important to the office? It is important because it helps to keep the members of an organization alert and focused. It is also soothing and breaks up the monotony of simply sitting at a desk attempting to solve the day’s problems. Simply put, it relaxes and comforts the person drinking it.

Coffee can be thought of as a tool used to assist workers in producing their daily products. For this reason{IP/7} it is important that workers are provided with the best tool that can be had within the company’s financial constraints
