Throughout diaries, letters and journals, many information of past generations had been gather to be shared among other generations. Diaries and journals are important for their valuable historical content and their insight into the past. Numerous diaries such as Anne Frank: The Diary Of A Young Girl, are highly known for document what was happening to them and at that time period.

By having a diary you are able to express yourself without the concern of being judge or oppressed. Through the journal you will always be listened and will have no prejudice. Also reflexing and discovering truth of yourself will be part of the overall experience of having a journal. During the WW2, Jews didn’t have a say or a rights at all. Anne Frank in her diary talks about how she lives, we grow and get to know her as you read. She also shares her feelings and opinion. From the historical value of diaries you learn form other time periods and the historical background, the knowledge will be passed down through generations and hopefully they will learn from their mistakes. Off Ann Frank diary we got other perspective of what was the holocaust. Anne Frank writes her entries in 1942 and because of them we are able to know a little bit more of what was all about.

The disadvantage of losing a diary is that all the valuable documented information will be lost forever. We wouldn’t have other point of views on other historical event. If Anne Frank’s diary had gone lost, we would have known about the holocaust but not from the point of view of her (the oppressed side/ point of viw). We might have not know of how awful was like to live at that time.

Diaries and Journal are highly important for the connection it has with history and the personal benefits. An extent amount of diaries have become famous for their historical background and their attribution to history. Having a diary is a new and different experience that everybody should give it a try.

    During the holocaust it wasn’t any easier for Anne. She had to go and hide with fear of being found and being sent somewhere. She was her family though so that’s all that matters. In the book it said she didn’t get to enjoy life as much like any other regular teenager, she missed out in school and being with her friends cause she was a jew. As Anne went into hiding it took a lot of courage because she wanted to be home with her friends and she had to do it anyways or she would get sent away without her family. Eventually they were found and they got sent to a concentration camp and everyone who was living with them in the Secret Annex all got sent to Auschwitz.
