Jordan Case Study Essay
Jordan was born on November 14, 2012 he was born a month early. Being a month early Jordan only weighed 5lbs 12 oz after being born. Even though he was didn’t weigh the weight that the doctors hoped he would he was healthy in all the other aspects of the checkup after birth and released him the next evening. Jordan was a happy baby for the first couple of months he was home when all he did was sleep, and eat. Then when it was time for him to start to babble and talk he then started to get upset and frustrated.
Jordan’s pediatrician did not see anything wrong with his hearing in the checkup through the first few months. Until Jordan turned one and could not say a word or was not babbling as much as he should. Lacey at first thought that he

They put tubes in his ears and his hearing and speech started to improve. After they took his tubes out he did not have hearing problems for months. Until he stopped showing improvement in his speech again. Lacey once again told the doctor at the next appointment and the doctor had responded to put tubes in once again because that was the only treatment that was shown to work. Once again he showed improvement with the tubes. At this time Jordan was a few months from being three and was placed in speech. After Jordan was placed in speech Jordan´s vocabulary expanded vigorously. He showed signs of improvement quickly. He could say sentences and hold a decent conversation if someone would ask him a question. Lacey was relieved when Jordan showed improvement and how he’s speech and learning abilities improve each day.
Today Jordan can not stop talking. He seems like a whole new person he seems happier that he can talk to others and people can understand him. Instead of getting frustrated by not being able to be understood. The whole problem was that he could not hear and that was what was holding him back in his abilities to learn but after fixing the problem it helped him excel in his
