Jack Lord Of The Flies Leadership Analysis
Jack would be my preferred leader if I were stranded on an island in Lord of the Flies by Sir William Golding. Jack has a very strong personality, as he is surer of his decisions. For instance, Jack does not hesitate when asked what task he and the choir will be doing as he blatantly replies, “hunters” (19). Secondly, Ralph is trying to please Jack by letting him have more power than he should shows compassionate leadership. In addition, when Jack calls Piggy, “Fatty”, Ralph responds, “he’s not Fatty, his real name’s Piggy” (17), showing Ralph’s desperation to fit in with the bigger boys, like Jack.
