Interprofessional Teamwork
There is increasing pressure on healthcare professionals to work together collaboratively. Ethical problem in an interprofessional teamwork is best to be resolved, when interprofessional practice decisions are questioned. The reinforcement of shared values such as patient-centeredness, and development of a shared group identity is supreme in the team.
Research has confirmed that social classification based on profession occurs in interprofessional teams because profession is an entrenched source of social classification (Bartunek, 2011 cited by Mitchell, Parker, Giles, & Boyle, 2014). Additionally, research into group functionality discovers that sentimental conflict is related to suspicion among team members, which results to a negative and competitive atmosphere (Mitchell et al, 2014).
The individual dynamics in the work place is the professional identification and the diversity. This disagreement and conflict are outlined with the individual educational background and the professional practice, which both acts as barriers. Ewashen, McInnis-Perry, & Murphy (2013), suggest that understanding the difference is critical because it fosters respect for all the professionals’ disciplines. They recommend a consideration of the individuality, culture, and the relevant moral principles of each individual.
The ethical concepts of virtue ethics underlie the various perspectives of individuality and interprofessional team. Ewashen et al (2013), suggested that virtue ethics offer ways to know how to be ethical and to act ethically. Virtue ethics is said to be aspirational, obligated, and propagate good business practices. Having those perspectives helps create mutual

    Inter-professional collaborations are invaluable relationships between healthcare professionals that are formed with the sole purpose of providing optimum help for a service user (Hornby and Atkins, 2000). Goodman and Clemow (2010) explain that collaborative practice is actually based around two ideas. The first is that nurses need to be able to work with other professionals, and the second is that they need to be able to work with ‘people’.
