Interpersonal Behavior: Intervention Teamwork
Robbie is a third grader who required atypical needs from an intervention team. Robbie frequently came to school filthy, with unwashed clothes and a strong odor. This has begun to affect his relationship with his classmates. His classmates frequently did not want to work with him, or would tease him cruelly. Robbie’s mother is a single parent, who leaves for work prior to when Robbie leaves for school. With that being said, she is unaware that he goes to school filthy. Within our IAT meeting, we discussed possible options for Robbie and his mother in order to reduce the likelihood of this behavior continuing.
When participating in the IAT meeting, I took the role of the intervention teacher. With that being said, it was my responsibility to

    In the case Alicia and Montford these are two young children who are living at the New Horizons homeless shelter they have been there for a year. The family’s stay at the shelter will end at the end of the month. Both children are performing poorly in school as well as showing a wide range of anti-social behaviors. The children are not performing well in school both children have issues reading as well in their math classes. Montford has violent tendencies he also does not return homework as well as papers his teacher sends home. Montford violent activities range from hitting other students to yelling at his teachers.     Tony needed several verbal prompts to comply to one and two step instructions. For instance, when asked to do one and two step instructions Tony would use profanity at Mom and or clinical team (i.e. “F*** You”). Tony also use profanity during the egg game he played with the clinical team. Tony was warned once not to use profanity or else the game would be removed. Shortly after then, Tony used profanity and the game was removed. Tony was upset over losing access to the game. Tony went to the bathroom, closed the door, and inside the bathroom he yelled out profanity. For this reason, Tony was reinforced for compliant and appropriate behaviors throughout the assessment. Later Tony, hit his knee on the table, screamed, hit the table, he called the table stupid, cried, and engaged in more profanity.
