Intel must invest in Low Cost Low Power (LCLP) Chips to provide cheap and robust computing power. Intel must also provide investment in communication technologies which can be used to provide connectivity in rural areas. These technologies must be robust enough to survive prolonged usage in rough conditions but also must be feature packed to provide the necessary benefit to the end user. Intel …show more content…
Local Foundations and NGO will have better understanding of the local ground realities and will be in a better position to implement its changes. This will make sure that Intel will be able to provide technology support which still remains its core competency. Its main job would be as an ecosystem standards creator. Intel should run a certification programme where it would certify partner products depending on whether these products would meet its low cost and high robustness thus ensuring that end-user would be reasonably assured of Quality. Intel Foundation is the charity arm of Intel which looks after Intel’s CSR activities. Intel Foundation should take up the job of creating partnership in local areas and providing support to the local foundation. Intel Foundation could also provide training support and needs based financing to the external local partners to implement the changes that will meet Intel’s Sustainability …show more content…
Intel has already been moving to lower chip sizes in order to which will take need low power to run. These chips should be robust enough to work in a variety of environments. They should be cheap enough so that they could reach a wider environment. Also Investment would be required in alternative chargers and battery’s which would work in areas where 24-Hr electricity cannot be guaranteed. Intel should investment in Low Power Radio Chips. Intel should invest in low power radio connectivity chips which will be able to work with alternative connectivity solutions like Google’s Project Loon and Microsoft White Space Project. Investment in Internet of Things Devices to enable smart cities where IOT’s would help in conserving electricity and water and other resources. As an example, a machine that could control the city’s street and public lighting system based on the usage requirement and weather. Investment in Automated Transportation Technologies in order to reduce emission and help the US Meet its standard of 28% lower emission's as compared to 2005 as per COP21 agreement. Investment in Smart Grids for Efficient power. The Grid would be able to take power from both traditional power plants and renewable power plants and reroute the power where it is needed more based on the usage
