Inherit the Wind Essay Inherit the Wind is written by Jerome Lawrence and Robert E. Lee. Bertram Cates is an evolutionist who plays a big part in the story. He and I have many similarities and differences. Bert Cates is a young school teacher. Unlike his Christian community, Bert believed in evolution. Bert decided to teach what he believed in instead of Christianity. As a result, Bert was thrown in jail. He continued to stand by his beliefs in a losing court battle. I, Cole Dodd, am fourteen years old. I am a Christian. I have been attending church regularly since I was seven. I was also baptized when I was ten. I have no criminal background. Bert and I have some similarities and differences. Bert stood by his beliefs in evolution.
