General Purpose: to inform
Specific Purpose: to inform my audience about celebration traditions around the world
Central idea: to inform my audience about different wedding, festivals and birthday traditions in different countries.

INTRODUCTION

Birthday celebration is an ancient European tradition, which evolved as attempts to fend off the evil spirits that people believed were attracted to a person celebrating their birthday. The act of giving gifts and well wishing follows this.

B. In China, When a Chinese child turns one year old, it is a very important event. The parents might tell the baby 's fortune by placing the baby in the center of a group of objects (such as coins, a doll, a book, etc.)

C. In Australia, the children eat a dish called “Fairy Bread”. This is a popular snack and is buttered bread covered with tiny, sprinkles known as “hundreds and thousands”.
