There are many ways in which people tend to abuse of animals. An example is neglect, meaning that between a pet and the owner there is a “failure to provide an animal with the most basic of requirements of food, water, shelter and veterinary care” (What). Dogfighting is another example. Dogfights are events when two dogs are put inside a fighting pit and are forced to fight until the other one is dead or is too weak to fight back. The fights are brutal and the owners abandon the loosing dogs with only a couple more hours to live because of its deadly injuries or inhumanly kill the dogs themselves. The winning dog owner gets a money price. Most of the dogs that are considered to not be good enough to be entered in the pit and be victorious are used as bait to train other dogs or as breeding dogs where they are constantly exploited. All of these actions that people inflict on the animals can make them become very scared of humans, other dogs and their surroundings causing them to be very…

People who do such a thing should be prosecuted and receive for life sentence in prison. Some of the most common forms of animal cruelty are: Animal testing and experimentation in laboratories, lack of owners care and attention, and using animals as a way of entertainment. Animal abuse is when someone inflicts pain or harm upon an animal such as not giving them their basic needs (food and water) to beating them. In between 5 and 7 million animal companions enter an animal shelter nationwide, every year (www.aspca.org), and within 50 miles of Hayward, CA, there are 170 animal cruelty cases reported (www.pet-abuse.com). Imagine what these innocent beings that cannot speak out to let the human know they are in pain feel. Animals need us to speak out and help reduce their suffering instead of making their lives worse. Animal safety needs to be improved by creating more laws to protect animals from harm. Animal cruelty is shaped by two forms of abuse, different types of animal abuse, opinions on how animal cruelty happens, organizations that help fight for animal rights, and ways to report it.…

Animal cruelty is a pressing subject in today’s society. Even though we use animals for their fur, entertainment, research and as food, we have to do it in a humane way that minimizes pain and suffering towards the animal in use due to animal rights laws that have been enacted. Small organizations such as the ALB (Animal Liberation Brigade), CAFT (Coalition to Abolish the Fur Trade), COK (Compassion Over Killing), FoA (Friends of Animals), FFA (Fight For Animals), IDA (In Defense of Animals), LCA(Last Chance for Animals) MFA (Mercy for Animals), and larger more well known organizations like the WSPA (World Society for the Protection of Animals), ASPCA (American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) and the Humane Society of the United States help to prevent and rescue victims of animal abuse. Animals are usually abused due to the fact that they cannot speak about the wrongs done to them and they cannot call out for help. Not just animal abuse is wrong, but any sort of abuse is immoral overall.…

Animal cruelty can be anywhere and done by anyone. Many people think of animals, especially cats and dogs, as disposable. They get a puppy for the children for Christmas only to realize it is a lot of work that the children are not ready for. They forget to feed and water it, don 't take it for walks, and don 't take it outside to use the bathroom. The solution, abandon it or just take it to the humane society. They 'll get another when the kids are older. An animal that is used to being taken care of by humans cannot fend for itself when it is dumped. It slowly starves or gets attacked by other animals. Many people will shoot stray animals with bbs to chase them away from their property. The animal becomes hurt or aggressive…

According The Legal Dictionary animal cruelty is defined as, “The infliction of physical pain, suffering, or death upon an animal, when not necessary for purposes of training or discipline or (in the case of death) to procure food or to release the animal from incurable suffering, but…

Animal Captivity Whether in the zoo or the circus wild animals produced in captive breeding programs are almost never released into the wild; instead, they are doomed to life in captivity. Holding animals captive is just as bad as holding people captive, which is horrible. Animals, just like humans, have emotional feelings, and no matter the reason, captivity should never be an option. Captivity and imprisoning should only be allowed for criminals and guilty people, but never innocent animals.…
