INTRODUCTION

Nowadays, in a highly technological society, human productivity is made more efficient through the development of electronic gadgets. Computers are not confined to being used for entertainment but can also use in business purposes. It can make the management of a business less tiring and easier. Many problems in business arise in keeping of files. The Dental Clinic is using a manual storing of files and computing, which is traditional use when technology is not yet developed. BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY

The Pajanostan Dental Clinic started to open in the year 1995.It has a branches in Fort Bonifacio, Makati City and here in Bulacan. The Dental Clinic is built by Mrs. Arlene Pajanostan and Mr. William Pajanostan. Pajanostan Dental Clinic is open every Monday to Friday from 9am-7pm and Saturday to Sunday ffrom 9am-4pm.

STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM

Specifically, the study would answer the following problems: a. Lost dental records of patient’s.
b. Deterioration of patient’s dental records. c. Having difficulty in finding a patient’s dental records.

OBJECTIVES OF THE STUDY

General Objectives
The general objective of the study is to develop a Database Management System for Pajanostan Dental Clinic.

Specific Objectives
a. To prevent losing dental records of patients. b. To prevent the deterioration of dental records of patients c. To make finding of dental records easier and more efficient.

SCOPE AND LIMITATION

This section defines the scopes and limitations of the study for the purpose of establishing a cohesive and comprehensive framework.

Scope
The study cover all that is needed in a dental clinic such as dental records, services, patient’s information, medicine and people with debt.
Limitations
The study will not cover other non-dental services and this system is for a dental clinic and not suitable for any other purposes.

SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY
Student. The system will protect all dental records from tampering, thus assures that all dental records are well kept. Increased safety measures will be given to the clinic since it is not written in a paper. Company. The system will help to easily identify what are the services and patient’s info, the system would also help map out the people that have remaining balance in the clinic.

This entity relationship diagram tells that the patient chooses a dental service that he/she wants the dentist to do, afterwards the dentist will write down the type of service he/she did on the patient. The dentist will also ask the patient about some information about the patient, this information and services will be written in the dental record of the patient.
