The prime focus of this piece is Mt.Hood, which is centered in the middle of the picture plane halfway up the canvas. The mountain in the piece is opaque as there are no t-intersections within it. Behind the mountain various tones of orange, red, purple, and yellow are used to create a stunning sunset. Underneath the mountain, short straight strokes of numerous shades of green, blue, orange, and purple were used to create an image of thousands and thousands of trees. Close to halfway on the canvas, the image of Mt.Hood, the sunset, and the rows of trees is reflected on the water of Trillium Lake. Tehan utilizes the same colors she used in the top half of the canvas to create the reflection on the water. Centered on the bottom of the canvas towards the left side of the piece is a railing painted using various tones of brown, black, purple, yellow, pink, and orange. Tehan's delicate use of her pallet knife allowed her to create straight geometric lines for the railing. It also allowed her to give the railing an illusory texture.…

The art piece is representational, the lines are sharp and there are various and different shapes. The texture is smooth and there has been more than one colour that has been used in the painting. The tone shows that the sun is on him even though there is no sun shown in the portrait. Space and depth has been used as you can tell the objects are further away and the ones that are closer up and in detail.…

    Guernica Picasso Analysis

The first painting in consideration is Picasso’s 1937 oil painting, “Guernica.” Picasso was commissioned by the Spanish republican government, to paint a piece for the 1937’s world fair. Picasso’s piece was the cubism work, Guernica, an anti-war painting in response to the bombings of Guernica the 26th of April 1937. Deciphering this piece is not an easy feat, the black and white and gray colors give off a gloomy feel, death and commotion are apparent in this painting. The space is compressed and full with the many shifting perspectives, this piece gives off a feeling of alertness. Even though the work is very busy and seemingly disorganized, in closer look there is some balance in the work. If we go from left to right, the figures centralized are stable by a large triangle of light. The figures to the sides are in commotion, emotions running wild.…

    The Birth Of a Man

In this incredible painting a very young starving-looking child is hid behind what is thought to be his mother peeking around her to see an incredible image. Behind her is a huge egg with a man breaking out of the inside of it with blood seeping out of the rigid crack. What is interesting about the egg is that it appears to be the globe. You can make out what appears to be the continents Africa, America, and Europe. Furthermore, it appears the man is breaking out of the United States and seems to have a grip on Europe. At first I was confused by this and didn’t understand what this could mean. Upon further research I found that this piece was painted in 1942, just after WWII. I believe Dali was trying to show the tight grip America had on Europe after the war was finished.…

The painting is composed of three main elements, namely the featured objects (eggs, pan, pitcher), the wooden shelf on which they are resting, and the dark background which we can assume to be a darkly painted wall.
