If you find errors on your credit report, what steps would you take to correct them? If I believe there's an inaccuracy anywhere on my credit report or find any errors on it, the steps that I would use to help me correct those errors would be; Step 1 Request a fresh report directly from the credit bureaus. Step 2 see if any information is missing from my report, Step 3 Collect data to prove my case, such as copies of canceled checks and creditor statements. For example, if my credit report shows that I owe money to a creditor that was paid in full, I need to find the statement that shows a zero balance, and saying that the bill was paid off. Step 4 I need to contact the agency whose report contained the error/wrong information with a letter stating why I’m contacting them. Also in that letter I need to provide my name, Social Security number and date of birth, and make sure to write professionally, without anger or threats, and include all the details, such as account numbers, invoice or check numbers and payment dates. After I write my letter I need to make it clear what I want changed and sign the letter. Once the letter is sent off to the bureaus, I wait for them to get my results back.…

I have never been a victim of identity theft nor do I know anybody who has. From what I have read the resolution process can be long and painful mentally and physically. It could also take a very long time as in years if not caught in time. We would have to contact lenders and close out and dispute anything that was not of our knowledge. I believe then an investigation will start and if the person is ever caught then they can begin on recovering your credit and removing whatever credit was used without your knowledge. Any credit we knowingly used is…

Larceny is “the unlawful taking of personal property with intent to deprive the rightful owner of it permanently”, defined by the Merriam - Webster dictionary. There are different levels of larceny. There is Grand Larceny which is usually defined as theft of a more significant amount of property. In the United States it is often defined as items or currency that is valued as $400 or more. In New York grand larceny applies to amounts of $1000 or more. Grand larceny is classified as a Class A felony. To bluntly say it, larceny is stealing from others. No matter what the motives or reasons behind stealing are, it is still wrong. I imagine there are a million of motives for someone to convince himself or herself that it is worth the risk to steal something. Some other people might also not have the conscience to feel wrong for stealing. A large part of this is because people do not understand who or what they are harming when they steal. Most people don’t care and only worry about their problems. Even after being caught someone might only feel bad for himself or herself.…

"Identity theft is the unauthorized use or attempted use of an existing credit or debit card, bank account, telephone account, online account, or insurance account; the unauthorized use or attempted use of another person’s information to open such an account, secure a loan, or commit another crime; or the misuse of another person’s information for a fraudulent purpose" (Conklin, 2013, p. 58). The techniques performed by offenders to achieve identity theft can be very strategic, focusing on naiveness of focal groups. One example is where offenders impersonate government officials and ask for personal information with threats of losing benefits by not submitting. Due to this, the most appropriate theory that applies is rational choice theory.…
