An individual’s identity is shaped by both negative and positive life experiences. The people you hang out with, siblings, and even life achievements can shape your identity. There have been many experiences that have shaped my identity. First, my brother has played a big role. He has influenced the way I think and act. My brother, Sam, has influenced the way I think because when I hear my brother talking about his intrests, it makes me think about new things that I might also like. He also influenced the way I act. When he tries new things, I usually try them too, sometimes I like them, but sometimes I don’t. Even the clothes he wears influences the way I look. One of the biggest things that have shaped my identity is my parents. My parents also play a big role in my life because they are the ones have raised me to be the person I am now. Your mom and dad are the first relationships you will have. They definitely influence how I act from how I eat to how I talk. They teach me new things every day. My parents have influenced me on how to reach out to people, to help others, and to make new friends.
Where I live is a big factor of my identity. Where I live effects who I hang out with, that also affects my identity. They effect my identity because usually if my friends try something and they like it, I will probably try it and most likely like it, too. They teach me new things every day and share new interests with me.
My religion has helped shape my identity in many ways. In Temple and Hebrew school I have learned about my culture’s beginnings, legends, and how it effects my life presently. I have learned to speak Hebrew, a new language for me. My religion has helped guide me in certain ways.
Finally, technology has played a huge part in shaping my identity. I love technology, and this interest all started with my dad. My dad works at a computer company called Gotham Technology Group. Because of him, I have gained such an interest in technology. It shapes my life every day. In my house we have system called Control 4. This system lets you control pretty much anything in my house from any smartphone. It can control the lights, locks, security, surround sound, tv, locks on doors, and even more. This really got me hooked on technology too because I thought it was so cool. But what really has me hooked is Garage band and taking pictures and editing them. I just love taking pictures and edititing them especially. It is just so cool because there is so much that you could do with one picture it is just fascinating. Same with Garage band. There is just such a wide variety of things you can do that is is just amazing. So because of all this I have become a tech-geek which has changed me almost completely.
So, in conclusion, many things have changed my identity. Siblings, family, where I live, religion, and technology have all factored in to make up the great person I am today.
