This article was published in Scientific America in the year 2014. The article is intended for those who seek an interest in the military and ISIS. Evidence that supports this is when Zittrain wrote, “ISIS staged a parade with its new weapons and deployed them… The U.S. began conducting air strikes and rearming the Kurds to even the score against its own weaponry.” (926) Using this in the beginning of his article helps the readers gain a better understanding of what the article will be about, making it easier to be…

The Islamic State is a terrorist group that should be stopped. They have hurt and continue to hurt a lot of people, but there isn’t much that the U.S. could do that has not been done yet. In my opinion, the fastest way to end with a problem is to get rid of it completely. One way to achieve that is by using nuclear weapons. Bombing Iraq to swipe the Islamic State could be an infinitive answer, but like everything there are some pros and cons to this method. To be more exact there are more negative effects to this method. First of all, Isis is not just in one place, but it’s spread all over the region. That means the U.S. would have to use many bombs. That would be extremely expensive and ineffective. Also, we would also be killing innocent…

As stated before, ISIS is an extremist militant group that began in about 2004. Their name stands for Islamic State in Iraq and Syria. ISIS was an ally of Osama bin Laden’s al Qaeda. Both groups were radicalist militant groups who wanted to establish an independent Islamic state in the region. ISIS disowned…

ISIS is also known for killing thousands of people, carrying out public executions, crucifixions, taking over large swaths of northern and western Iraq, and other acts. Their goal is to get more people to believe in Islam, and even become Muslims. All Muslims can agree that in our religious book, Quran, it is states ‘’no violence at all!’’ and to your own brothers, and sisters? Is a big no-no. So, this group is partially right to want to create an Islamic State, however it is not the right thing to do with violence. As it is, ‘’violence is never the answer!’’.…

Is ISIS Really a Threat to the United States? ISIS is a newly formed group that operates in the Eastern part of the world. The goal of this group is to create an Islamic state across Sunni areas of Iraq and in Syria. Currently, they control hundreds of square miles all over Iraq and Syria; this number is growing greater everyday. I believe that ISIS presents very little threat to the United States as a whole. The goal of this paper is to establish if the U.S is indeed, threatened by this terrorist group known as ISIS.…

It seems that Isis wants to expand their group around the world. It seems like we're having the same situation that we had almost hundred years ago with nazi’s how they got expand in Germany and eventually we had a war going. I think It shows that Isis got really powerful but it also shows that they want a lot of attention and want people to give propaganda to people so they could join them and eventually fight with them.…

With a ranking like ours why would we sit back and do nothing to stop ISIS? Attacking through superior firepower has proved the most efficient way to eliminate an opponent. For example, when the United States dropped nuclear bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki our enemies were utterly wiped out, and World War II ended. Sadly, ISIS is continuing to expand its influence. However, America has slowly involved itself more, and thousands of ISIS targets are being eliminated. According to a study consulted November 13, 2015, by the Pentagon, America has damaged/destroyed a total of 16,075 targets. Without American involvement, these objectives wouldn't have been destroyed. Potentially reaching their destination and killing hundreds, if not thousands, of innocent civilians. American military involvement is crucial to the takedown of…

In the article it proclaims about how a plane with Russian tourists crashed in the Sinai Peninsula of Egypt just few days ago. Russian tourists were coming back from visiting the wonders of Egypt, heading towards St. Petersburg, Russia. Most people of Egypt were shocked about this incident. Fortunately, the plane did not have any explosives, as this is a counterexample regarding ISIS claiming they caused it. Apparently, ISIS wants more attention around the globe to scare people. Intelligent analysts claimed that the plane was hit by a missile, but new information says that it was an in-flight structural malfunction which caused an explosion on the plane. Still, no one can confirm if it was terrorism or an aircraft complication. According to the satellite data a heat flash was detected immediately as a result of the plane crashing. After Egypt officials finish their land work, they will have to scrutinize the data in the black boxes to gain further information and evidence. All of these facts are the different perspectives on how the plane…

A big reason why Americans are becoming worried about ISIS is that ISIS currently has about 300 members/militants with U.S. passports. Washington D.C. officials fear that American ISIS fighters will travel home and use their terror training to launch horrific attacks at either a single or multiple locations in the United States. I believe this is a major problem. My view on ISIS is that we need to put a force on them and treat them as we treated al Qaeda. Yes, it may not be right to say that we should send the marines and army out to Middle East again, but it is necessary in order to keep the United States safe. ISIS’ plans are to destroy people in their way, and there are a few things stopping them from taking over the Middle…

I read about the advantages and disadvantages of the Americans fighting ISIS on their soil. A advantage the Americans have is they are the most powerful country in the world. The Americans have multiple nuclear bombs that could annihilate the entire middle east. A disadvantage is the Americans have no clue what ISIS has, they have idea of what weapons they have or what tricks they have up their sleeve. Another disadvantage is the Americans would be fighting on ISIS territory which is very unfamiliar to the Americans. Also the Americans are at a disadvantage because if they were to send an attack on ISIS it would put innocent lives at risk which would hurt the Americans reputation.…
