I M Not Scared Relationships

In the novel, Michele is put the challenges of loyalty, not only towards his friends and families, but to his morals and values. He puts complete trust onto his parents and his best friend’s shoulders, which is then shattered, further signifying how fragile trust is. The relationship between Michele and his father is the perfect embodiment of most relationships throughout the novel; where trust and betrayal are at a constant battle. Michele is stuck between wanting to do what is morally right but to obey his father’s orders. Michele is torn between the promise between his father and the promise towards Filippo; forcing him to make a decision to whom he will stay faithful to.
