Barry Lyga, 44 , is a man that spent the majority of his career working on teenage age books and short stories. He has written a couple of other books the most famous being “ The Astonishing Adventures of Fanboy and Goth girl”. He worked for the Diamond Comic Distributors before he started writing books because he spend most of his time and his childhood reading, looking, enjoying comic books. He has written two other major books one being Boy Toy, which was his second book, and the other being Hero-Type which was his third.
Lobo’s Nod is a small town where nothing happens. Nothing big had happened there since they caught his father, Billy, who was the most well known serial killer ever. Not only did he murder over a hundred bodies in his career as a killer but he also taught his son Jasper ,Jazz, Dent. He is 13 when his father is arrested, not only has to deal with the difficult life that comes from your dad being a serial killer, but also has to deal with his father teaching him his ways in how to commit crimes and how to kill people .

Jazz’s Gramma has a severe case of Alzheimer's and his caseworker notices and tries to get him into a foster home. Murders start to happen in Lobo’s Nod and Jazz tries to catch the serial killer. Jazz visits his father who is in jail and his father gives him advice on home to catch the impressionist ( the new serial killer). The impressionist tries to kill Jazz’s Gramma and also tries to kill him when his friend, Howie, and his girlfriend , Collie, save him. Jazz’s father escapes from prison and killed Jazz’s social worker so that Jazz can live with his grandma still. The impressionist gets caught. Jazz’s Dad leave a note saying that he might see him soon and jazz promises that he will caught him
