I Dd Questionnaires
If the participants on the waitlist were found to have a significant change between their questionnaires after the 4-month period, it would suggest that ODD symptoms are able to elevate on their own. However, if there’s no significant difference or the symptoms are reported to worsen significantly, it would suggest that an intervention or treatment is necessary to improve behaviors and diminish ODD symptoms. The questionnaires for the teachers will demonstrate if ODD symptoms demonstrate themselves in all aspects of the child’s life or if they are restricted to certain situations. If the participants don’t show ODD symptoms while at school, it suggests that these symptoms only present themselves in certain situations in the child’s life. Also, teacher questionnaires will give us a broader perspective on the child’s life and may inform us of significant events or problems that repeatedly present themselves that we wouldn’t be aware of otherwise. Due to this, each therapist may have their own preference in the way that they wish to conduct their sessions. In attempts to make the sessions more similar between therapists, they must attend meetings to discuss how they’re conducting their sessions so that the therapists are aware of how others may be conducting their sessions differently. Also, the therapists are instructed to begin their sessions in the same manner, by requiring the participants to talk about their negative interactions first and base the session off of that. This is expected to make the sessions more unique to the individual and to be more applicable and beneficial to the patient. Future studies should look at conducting a more structured form of DBT and to also compare a standard for of therapy to see which is most

Though Rodgers cited six conditions for therapeutic change, he believed that only three of these qualities or core conditions (Dykes p. 114-115 2010) where necessary and sufficient to achieve change. One of these core conditions is the ability to have unconditional positive regard for the client. Rodgers described this as a non-possessive caring of the client (Dykes p.116 2010).
