Blobfish are a species of light pink fish native to oceans off of Australia near the ocean floor. Their scientific name is psychrolutes marcidus. They are known to some as one of the ugliest animals on the planet. Not much is known about the fish due to their proximity to the ocean floor. They do not hold very much importance seeing as they aren’t a major part of the food chain.

This type of fish can be found in the waters as deep as 100 meters to 2800 meters. The pressure is 60 to 120 times greater than at sea level.
