How To Create Edits For DDR X2
How to create edits for DDR X2
DDR X2 supports customized step charts that can be loaded from a USB thumb drive. There are two ways to create edit data for play on DDR X2.

The first method is visiting http://ddredit.konamionline.com/ddrse/ and using Konami’s online Step Editor. This Step Editor is flash based and supports a fraction of the song list found on DDR
X and DDR X2. The Step Editor produces a .DAT file that must be saved to your hard drive. The name of the file will indicate the name of the edit on the machine. For example: If you name your edit
“LuvHurts.DAT”, when the edit is loaded onto the machine, the edit will appear with the title
“LuvHurts”.
The second method involves using SimPhony which allows you convert a StepMania simfile
(.sm file) into the .DAT format generated by Konami’s online Step Editor. StepMania is generally seen as having a better user interface and testing environment for creating edit data than Konami’s online editor. SimPhony also allows you to convert songs that the Konami Step Editor does not support, including older songs from past mixes and DDR X2 songs.
First, you must download the latest version of SimPhony at http://sites.google.com/site/dahrkdaiz/SimPhony.zip . Extract the files into a folder on your computer. Launch the program. You may receive an error that an Internet connection is needed to use SimPhony. SimPhony works by simulating the Konami Step Editor by sending the website the step data needed to generate an edit file, but it will replace the appropriate music id so that the file generated works for the song you choose. Because of this, an internet connection is needed.
The first step is to find the simfile of the song you want to convert. Typically, StepMania songs are found in C:\Program Files\Stepmania\Songs or C:\Program Files(x86)\Stepmania\Songs (for
Vista/7). Select the .sm file and the title of the song will be displayed in the textbox below it. Below this is a list of songs from the master id list that
