How The Influence Of Jeannette Walls's Life In The Glass Castle

Being a part of the Wall’s family comes with the hardship of having to pick up and leave any given place at any given time. Jeannette Walls experienced this as a child. She lived in Phoenix, Las Vegas, San Francisco, Midland, Blythe, Battle Mountain, and Phoenix again. Most of these stays were short and sweet, but each of them left an imprint on Jeannette. In the memoir, The Glass Castle, Jeannette Walls, the author, was most influenced by her time in Battle Mountain. Jeannette was young, but spent a lot of time in Battle Mountain and this is where she first encountered a lot of difficult situations that taught her about what life is really like. Battle Mountain was the first place where Jeannette had friends in her neighborhood. At the previous schools she attended she was bullied and jumped. Jeannette spent a lot of her time exploring with Brain and playing games with kids in the neighborhood, including Billy Deel. Billy was the first guy that liked Jeannette more than a friend. Billy caused a lot of problems for Jeannette and her family. He sexually assaulted Jeannette and then went around telling people that he raped her.
