How The Cardiovascular And Respiratory System Work Together
The cardiovascular system is made up of the heart and blood vessels, which are divided into arteries, veins and capillaries. The blood delivers nutrients and oxygen to the cells in the body. The arteries carry blood away from the heart and the veins carry it back to the heart. Capillaries are found in the muscles and the lungs, they have valves to stop the blood flowing backwards and this is also where gaseous exchange takes place. The heart works as a pump that pushes blood to the organs, tissues, and cells of your body and removes the carbon dioxide and waste products that are made.
The pulmonary circuit carries blood to the horse’s lungs to be oxygenated and then carries the oxygenated blood back to the heart. The systemic circuit carries blood around the body to deliver the oxygen and then returns the de-oxygenated blood to the horse’s heart.

They do this by the respiratory system getting the oxygen and the cardiovascular system oxygenate the blood and uses it to supply the body and carbon dioxide from the tissues diffuses into the blood and is carried back to the lungs where it is breathed

    The myocardium, commonly referred to as the heart, acts as a pump for transporting blood around the body via a collective system, known as the cardiovascular system. This system has various components; blood vessels; mainly arteries, veins and capillaries. The cardiovascular system has four main functions within the body.
