How Has Tesla Changing The World Case Study
How Tesla is changing the world.

Tesla received a lot of attention this year with the recent announcement of launching a $5 billion dollar gigafactory (solar powered factory) in Nevada that will produce batteries for Tesla vehicles. As you can imagine, the factory will cover a lot of ground to the tune of 10 million square feet.

This will mean that Tesla will be able to produce close to 500,000 vehicles by 2020. In turn it will create employment for 6,500 people and consumers will find it more affordable to purchase batteries for their electric vehicles that are currently selling for around $5,000, including installation costs. The Giga factory will ensure the battery costs will be lowered by 30% if not more.

He mentioned that they are working towards having a driverless Tesla ready within as little as three years from now. It is clear to see that Tesla will change the world as we know it in a big way.

Tesla is continuously looking for ways to lower the costs of their batteries thereby making it accessible to more and more people. Just recently, they partnered with Jeff Dahn who is known for his exceptional, innovative lithium-ion batteries that are very similar in design to what Tesla is currently using for the Model S sedans. Financial data were not made available as yet, but Tesla will sponsor Dahn’s research efforts in return for a solution to their cost problem.

Another huge change to the future will be Tesla’s Powerwall system. It was in April that the company announced their solar battery drive on a global scale with Powerwall where businesses and homeowners can look forward to much needed backup power in the even that standard power sources fail and to save on energy

Low and behold, in 2009, SpaceX’s Falcon 1 rocket became the first liquid-fuelled vehicle to be privately funded and put a satellite into orbit. From hereon, the company is going from strength to strength.Especially if you consider that the Falcon 9 was launched in 2010 when President Barrack Obama visited the site where this happened.

What does the future hold in terms of space technology? In a big way, Musk was inspired by Isaac Asimov’s Foundation series who like him views space exploration as one of the most important steps in preserving as well as expanding the consciousness of human life.

Future life on earth does not look all that bright. According to Musk, multiplanetary life may very well save the human race in that it will ensure their continued survival. What if global warming or a super-sized asteroid spells the end of us. On the other hand, the atomic weaponry that we have has the potential to extinguish the human

The original models produced by Tesla Motors range from $50k - $110K, making the vehicles out of reach for the majority of consumers. According to their original business plan, they were to build a sports car, using that money build an affordable car, and with that money build a more affordable vehicle (Gertner & Kratochwill, 2012). The company has so far completed two of their business objectives; therefore, it would be safe to conclude the company will not be going away any time in the near future. New carmakers are an extremely rare occurrence in this market because of the ability the current manufactures have to meet customer demands. Tesla Motors is the exception, not the rule.…

One of Tesla 's greatest strengths involves optimizing cost advantages associated with building economies of scale. Making batteries in massive volumes is a key part of Musk 's plan to drive down unit costs so that electric cars can become affordable to a much larger market. Tesla plans to cut battery pack costs by 30%, which will hit the target price of $35,000 for its third-generation vehicle. Musk is doing this by building a giant battery plant in Nevada, referred to as the "Gigafactory." In addition, Tesla is targeting to market large-scale electricity storage systems used by power companies, where low unit costs are also a key competitive factor.…

In this article I read looking at it from a sociological perspective the commercial space company headed by TELSA CEO Eon musk is finding ways on how to help society with ways of inventing cars that you need no gas they work by using solar power he is a great man investing on things to make this world easier to live in. Traditionally, rockets have been left to burn up in the Earth's atmosphere after launch, and that's why going to space has been so expensive. The necessary level of precision is astounding. Looking at this using my sociological imagination I think this thing with space x launching more rockets is good because that way we can discover more things in space.…

The second macroenvironmetal factor that Tesla Motors runs into is the demographics. The demographics factor may pose as a major problem for Tesla’s success in the future as its product only appeals to those that are able to afford their vehicles. Although Tesla Motors offers a first-rate vehicle when it comes to performance, efficiency, and class the price for the fairly new automobile company is not economically friendly. Currently Tesla’s prices can range from the base vehicle Model S which currently costs roughly $58,000 up to its “signature edition” which is estimated at $105,000. With its above average cost of the high end fully electrical cars Tesla must integrate a more concentrated segmentation strategy in targeting the correct demographics to foster the company’s success. Tesla Motors should also take into consideration of tackling demographics in regions with higher gas prices compared to others. According to the…

Tesla's designs and ideas have changed the world. Most of our cars and trucks currently run on gasoline, and the shortage of fossil fuel is becoming a serious matter. The available alternatives are Electric, Hydrogen and Hybrid vehicles. Hybrid cars still emit carbon dioxide; Hydrogen cars produce pure water as waste, but technical problems need to be overcome. Moreover, hydrogen fuel cells use platinum for catalysts and supplies of platinum are limited. Tesla Motors believes that the electric automobiles are an ideal solution because zero emission is produced effectively during operation, no fuel is consumed while running, and the electric engine is much simpler comparing to hybrid, hydrogen and conventional cars.…

The industry had become extremely competitive when new players started to join the market, especially the Chinese. Within 2010 only, Chinese government had invested over $30 billions to their top five solar producers. Funded with such enormous sum, they were able to cut the solar module’s cost by 50 percent. As a consequence, SolarWorld-USA suffered a large deduction in net revenue as they became the victim of price erosion under the Chinese’s rivalry. In addition, the Chinese’s market shares have reportedly been growing more and more.…
