The Boston Marathon was hosted in the big city of Boston on April 15, 2013. 26,839 runners started the Boston Marathon on April 15, 2013, but only 17,600 crossed the finish line. The bombings caused a huge devastation to everyone around the world. The bombing caused great stress for the thousands of participants. Many had to finish the run with the fear of being killed or injured.
Who would want to devastate the United States with another uncalled for tragedy? The Boston Marathon effected not only Boston, but everyone in the United States and around the world. It was a huge shock and devastation for all the families who lost a loved one, friend, co-worker, etc. The question for many was, why would they hurt innocent people trying to good for their country? No one could imagine the great fear these participants faced, knowing that a bomb had just gone off during a family fun event. The lid of the one of the pressure cooker bombs was found about 35 feet away from the explosion on a hotel roof. The amount of bombs that were set a lot of didn’t explode as they were hidden well and no one set them up. The Boston Marathon now brings in a lot of money from people making donations and remembering of the people who lost their lives. The Boston Marathon is still open to all runners 18 and up. The reasoning behind the bombing is not sure, but it also made the security at the races a lot higher. The Boston Marathon didn’t really damage much with the United States economy, but made people a lot more aware at all the marathons ran
