The allies gathered information day by day and with this information the allies decided to convince the Nazis that the invasion was going to take place at Calais not Normandy. The purpose of this plan was to distract and confuse the Nazis and by confusing them it made their army weak and displaced making it easy for the allies to attack in Normandy and the turning point for the Nazis had began without them realising it. There turning point had begun and it started at Omaha Beach when things got worse when the B17 bombers overshot the Nazi defences by 5 kilometres even though they were overshot the Nazi defence was still strong (Source C) .
