CHD can affect the body as it can reduce the oxygen supply due to narrowed arteries which can result in you feeling physically exhausted and stressed a lot. It can also cause pain and shortness of breath. Not having enough oxygen can also result in a series of heart attacks which can lead to the heart muscle dying and being replaced with scar tissue.

One way of doing this is by seeing a dietitian to change the foods you eat and create a plan where you eat fat free products, fruits, wholegrains, vegetables etc. and avoid red meat and sugary foods. This will result in you losing weight naturally and lowering your cholesterol levels as you would be eating foods which are low in fat, saturate fats, trans-fats and cholesterol. This can also help you slowly open your narrow arteries as the plaque will reduce. Having foods with less sodium in can help lower your high blood pressure resulting in less strain on the arteries. If your intake a lot of alcohol, then you should try and limit it as men should only have two alcoholic drinks a day and women should only have one as alcohol increases your weight and has many calories. Another way of treating CHD is to perhaps join the gym and working out at least 30 minutes a day or do some sports which you enjoy as this can help reduce stress which is a trigger for a heart attack and can help reduce cholesterol levels and high blood pressure. It can also help you lose weight which can lead to less of a build-up of fatty acids. If you smoke, you should try to quit by having a e-cig at first then quitting slowly in steps as it can reduce the chance of a heart attack and a build of fatty acid on your heart. It will also allow oxygen flow in from your lungs and out at a quicker paste. If you have a job and find it hard to prepare meals, then you should cut down as it can reduce stress and allow you to prepare healthy
