He is the only child and then while I was waiting him to ask me a question he said “why did you stop?” I was astonished as I asked have you ever played the question game? Of course Connor said no, I was like really? We got this homework paper about our experiment and we didn’t finish it so she said it was homework. Then guess what the best think that I think ever has happened to me. So Connor was all like hey want to come to my house to finish this and I was all like yasssss even though I had Cross Country after school today, but Connor just asked me to his house I have to go screw Cross Country. I am so so so excited, I asked him what time and he said I can drive you after school and I was like no it’s ok I’ll walk. I am so excited my stomach is doing the summersaults again, I bet if the insides of your organs had muscles my stomach on the inside would be so fit and flexible with all of the summersaults and backflips that it does. Ok see you in a second I have to go to the bathroom as I walked down the hallway before I turned to go onto the hallway with the bathroom I heard talking and stuff. I saw Grey on the phone and then I heard the word “Babe please no” and I looked away for a second and looked back and what I saw I knew exactly what it was a panic attack I ran over and grabbed him and sat him down on the ground before he fell over on the hard floor and busted his head

In the report written by Richard Hakluyt for Queen Elizabeth, addressing the reasons to capitalize on North America, Mr. Hakluyt suggests that by installing the glory of the gospel, and England’s religion in North America they would provide a safe place for people around the world that flee in search for God’s word. In his document, “Discourse of Western Planting” the majority, if not all of his points are based on economic motivation except this one. As if he were running out of ideas, he slips this reason into his final points to urge the queen to invest in this opportunity. Although he says he wants to construct a haven for people to come to for religious purposes, if people were to come because of this, it certainly would not hurt the economy…

I still remember that dreadful night as if it were yesterday, the day my pride, my joy, my everything, my marigolds were destroyed. That morning when I woke up I just knew it was going to be a bad day. I woke up and started doing the thing I've always done, I was taking care of my beautiful marigolds. I was out there for about two hours when a rock came flying at one of my marigolds and beheaded it, “Who out there?” I searched through the bushes trying to find the children who are always trying to get at me. “You better git” I yelled. I looked for a couple more seconds before I cautiously went back to my marigolds, but before I even knew it another rock beheaded another one of my marigolds. Those kids didn't understand my reasoning for planting…

Webster dictionary defines adaption as a change in a plant or animal that makes it better able to live in a particular place or situation. Plants and animals alike adapt in the face of adversity in order to survive and prosper. In the Botany of Desire, Micheal Pollan uses the theme of adaption to explain how the apple, tulip, cannabis, and potato have been able to survive so many centuries and become so intertwined with the human civilization. Just like the plants Pollan examined, animals have adapted to their environments in order to survive, those unable to adapt and evolve would become extinct; however, those successful -- i.e. the human race -- would go on to be a dominant race. The ability to adapt in order to survive is the human instinct that allows individuals to prosper in difficult situations, those who are unable to adapt become the people who make up the bottom rung of society.…

    Botany of Desire

In The Botany of Desire, Michael Pollan counters the idea that humans fully control the crops they plant for their own use. Instead, Pollan uses a “plant’s-eye view of the world” to argue that plants have manipulated humans for evolutionary advantage as much as humans have manipulated plants. The book centers around four main plants that exploit our desires: The tulip gratifies our desire for beauty, the potato for control, the apple for sweetness, and cannabis for intoxication. Pollan shows how these plants evolved to satisfy humans’ desires; for example, the sweetness of the apple induced Americans to spread the species, allowing for the cultivation of apples in a whole new continent. Pollan explores the question: Who is really domesticating whom?…
