Argument Essay

Humans make mistakes every day. For many, a mistake is often viewed as a huge negative. While some do have negative consequences, often there is good that can come from them as well if a person can change their perspective of a situation. The question to think about is if we benefit from everything that happens to us. Some people are able to recognize the good side of every situation and some people seem to struggle to look at things like that. Through out this paper, you will indeed discover that something good can come from every situation.

The first piece of evidence can be found in the attack on the twin towers, known as 911. When the attack happened, many people look at it as a really bad thing, but really some can be gained out of it. After 911, we made our airports much more safe. So it will be very hard for this to happen again. Even though this is very hard for most people to hear we still gained much from the event.

Another piece of evidence can be found when a student gets a poor grade on a test. They may feel that it is the end of the world but, it’s not. Once they stop panicking
Wilson 2 from the bad grade, they can look closely at what they did wrong. Learning to ask the right questions is very important to find the good in a situation. Things like, “What did I do well?”, “What did I not do well on?”, and “What can I do differently next time?” are very important for the person who wants to turn something bad into something positive. When it comes time for their next test they can find a new method for studying and do better on the test. If it doesn’t work, then they can keep trying until something does work. When they finally get a great grade on the test, that is where the good comes out.

A different example comes from the book Keesha’s House. In the book, a character named Stephie struggles with pregnancy. This is a very negative thing for her and her boyfriend, Jason. It could keep him from going to college and playing basketball. Stephie has to hide it from her parents, which is a negative. A quote from Stephie is '' I don't come home because I can't face my fears of telling her the truth''( Frost 3). For Jason, if he chooses to go to college, he can get a good education and he will be able to play basketball. If he stays, he will be brought closer to Stephie and the baby. Both have some bad effects but there are also good effects when it comes to this.

Another devastating event that most people think is very bad with no positive outcome coming was the school shooting in Colorado . Obviously, it was horrible. It is still known today as one of the worst tragedies in us history. While it was very bad, though, there was still good that came from it. Since that happened, we do have much better security in our schools. People also got a chance to see how quickly people helped
Wilson 3 one another when they were in a terrible situation. Even though it’s still very hard to talk about for many people we have definitely grown closer as a country after having gone through that situation together.

With all of the statements that I have provided, you may now be able to understand that even in situations that seem like they are only negative, there is often good that comes from them. The most important thing to remember is that when a bad thing happens, a person needs to look for the good. If they do, they will find something that positive that happened as a result of the bad event.

Both negative and positive experiences shape a person to be who he or she is. However, the impacts of these two experiences are debated. Some people would argue that negative experiences have a harmful effect on how individuals become better people in life. They may become jaded and forfeit their right to optimism. However, negative experiences actually have a more positive impact than positive experiences on how people become better because those experiences can be reflected upon and one can learn and change to develop and argue for morally right positions, such as fighting for the right to a proper education, freedom to participate in group activities regardless of the person, and protection from corrupt, evil humans.…

This field originated in Europe between the 70`s and 80`s, and over the years it has been improved, until the grade that it has supported diverse cases, such as an evidence or a prediction that leads to the criminal.
