The Coriolis name
The coriolis force, named for French physicist Gaspard Coriolis (17921843), may be seen on a large scale in the movement of winds and ocean currents on the rotating earth. It dominates weather patterns, producing the counterclockwise flow observed around low-pressure zones in the Northern Hemisphere and the clockwise flow around such zones in the Southern Hemisphere. To us it means understanding the big picture before you get into the details.

In America, factory farming looks like the best solution for food distribution due to the high demands for meats, dairy, eggs, fruits, and vegetables. However, if one was to dig deeper it would reveal that many people do not really know what is going on behind the scenes and the cheaper cost hardly justifies the industry’s actions. Factory farming is unethical and the food produced is definitely not the healthiest for our society.…

Why does the process of the factory affect the efficiency of the workers? The slaughtering, processing, and packaging of meat done by the immigrant workers at meat industries has caused high incidence of accidents, injuries and illnesses. In the article, by Barbara,Young,“Zoned for Efficiency” it connects to the points in Fast Food Nation by Eric Schlosser about how the workers need to stay working at a fast pace in order for the meat packing industry to make more money. If the workers are on track then the process of the meatpacking industry is doing excellent. The way meatpacking plants operate it leads to mistreatment of the predominantly immigrant workers who already are not paid enough for their labor.…

Answer: Southern directional winds were able to influence change in northward sea-ice drift. The Coriolis effect helps explain that on the earth, moving objects are deflected to the right in the northern hemisphere and to the left in the southern hemisphere. The mass of sea-ice might be deflected differently at each Antarctic pole…

If earth were either all land or all water and did not rotate on its axis, a large convection cell would form in each hemisphere with the colder and denser air at the poles sinking to the surface and flowing toward the tropics. There, it would force the warm air already at the equator to rise, and then it would cool and flow back toward the poles. The problem with this proposal is that Earth does rotate from west to east. This rotation causes the Coriolis effect, wherein moving particles such as air are deflected to the right in the northern hemisphere and to the left in the southern hemisphere. The Coriolis effect, combines with the heat imbalance founded on Earth to create distinct global wind systems that transport colder air to warmer areas and warmer air to colder areas. The end result is the balancing of heat energy on Earth.…

Honeybees depend on nectar, pollen and water collected from their environments to survive. A process that exposes them to pesticides if contaminated pollen and nectar (Mullin et al., 2010), surface water (Ssebugere et al., 2009b), floral secretions produced from some plants (Gontijo & Moscardini, 2014) and exudation excreted from plants (Girolami et al., 2009) are harvested. Once collected, they store this food inside beehives hence contaminating the brood, beeswax and honey with pesticides if present. Presence of pesticide residues in food like honey has been reported detrimental to human health (Wesseling & McConnell, 1997) and products known to contain such residues are usually banned from trade causing beekeeper’s economic losses in unsold…

The United States is a meat eating nation. According to Melanie Joy, the author of Why we Love Dogs, Eat Pigs, and Wear Cows, the average American eats 223 pounds of meat each year including 87 pounds of chicken, 17 pounds of turkey, 66 pounds of beef and 51 pounds of pork (37). The business behind the slaughter of these billions of animals is kept well hidden, but it needs to be brought into the light. Melanie Joy states that in order to grasp the enormity of this clandestine business one must know that the number of animals agribusinesses slaughter reaches 10 billion every year, and that is excluding fish and other sea animals.
